Hello! I am a queer and trans non-binary person who is half-Taiwanese and half-White, neurodiverse and chronically ill. I have the most experience working with clients who are members of the LGBTQIA+ community, specifically trans and gender-nonconforming people. I’m here to support you no matter what intersections of identity you may hold. I really enjoy working with clients who are seeking more fulfillment and authenticity in their lives - however that may mean to you - as your own autonomy is deeply important to me.

Not accepting new clients
**I am not currently accepting new clients** Each of us has intrinsic worth and our hearts and psyches have the ability to heal. My work with adults of all ages draws on the expressive arts, motivational and strengths-based therapies and cognitive behavioral and trauma-informed therapies. One of my passions has been exploring the ways in which the expressive arts - visual art, drama, music, movement, writing - touch us deeply and express emotions for which there may simply be no words. Where the response to suffering is compassion and hope, the goals of the individual - not the therapist - inspire the therapeutic process.

In my individual, couples, and family work, values of collaboration, mutuality, and connection guide my practice. I partner with clients to identify their own unique strengths that can be used as resources to foster growth and change. I am attentive to the role of early family experiences, cultural values, oppression, and stigma in shaping client's experiences. Particularly when addressing painful or traumatic areas, I attend to clients' emotional safety using mindfulness and body awareness. I believe that healing happens in the context of honest relationships and invite my clients to engage in open dialog about our work together.

My approach is grounded in psychodynamic work: attending to unconscious patterns, early relational experiences, and internalized conflicts shaping your present.
Welcome — taking this step matters, and I'm glad you found your way here. I'm an EMDRIA certified therapist, LCSW, BCD, and MBA trained in psychoanalysis. Maybe you're a professional exhausted by holding it all together, or a younger adult figuring out who you are and where you belong. You may be carrying anxiety, depression, or trauma that feels like too much to manage alone. Wherever you're coming from, you're welcome here. Many clients have tried therapy before but never found the shift they sought — arriving stuck, overwhelmed, and ready for something deeper than coping. What they want is clarity, resilience, and real change.

I love working with people navigating depression, grief and loss, trauma, low self-worth, substance use challenges, burnout, and existential distress. I also support clients through life transitions, relationship challenges, and self-exploration or identity work. Wherever you are in your growth process, I’d love to meet you there and support you in finding healthy ways to navigate challenges. I strive to create a space where we feel more curious than critical as we explore coping tools and decision-making that may not align with your values or goals.

You may be the person everyone relies on, the one who keeps functioning, achieving, and showing up for others while privately feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally exhausted. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, stress, and life transitions who are looking for steady, ongoing support and space to reflect. Whether you’re starting therapy for the first time, returning after a break, or searching for a different approach, I aim to create a space where you can build insight, strengthen coping skills, and feel more confident and grounded in your day-to-day life.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
