When was the last time someone asked, “How are you?”—and you gave an honest answer? I mean the real version, the one that sits in your chest and makes everything a little heavier. That’s where we start. I've seen what happens when therapy gets too rigid or robotic, when the humanity of it gets lost. That’s not what you’ll get with me. I’ll use evidence-based methods and also meet you with honesty, care, and a good sense of when to push and when to pause. I believe therapy works best when we can both be our true selves. That means awkward moments, vulnerability, unexpected laughter, and everything in between.

Healing happens within relationship. That has been my personal experience and my primary focus in the counseling relationship. I strongly believe that we are all doing the best that we can at any given moment. However we are managing to cope, having a trusting and safe place to be is essential. My first task in any counseling relationship is to establish and build upon that safe place. As the counseling relationship builds and strengthens, we will collaboratively develop a plan for meeting your goals. I will work to gently guide you in growing and sustaining compassion and care for yourself during that process.

Therapy is voluntary and I will focus on each person's expressed desire as to what they would like to work through. Building a rapport allows each client to become more comfortable with counseling and always ask where they would like to start. My approach is very unconventional as I am able to treat each person using various approaches allowing for comfort and a more laid back approach taking into consideration as to what the person expresses what type of approach they desire from a therapist. I am able to address the person's overall goals of treatment utilizing the desired approach they would like from a therapist.

People seek therapy either because they feel stuck in patterns they don't fully understand — or they understand their patterns but can't seem to affect change despite their insight. Whether the source is an imprint of painful past experiences, nervous system dysregulation, or an invisible ceiling in your life, what you want is the same: to understand the architecture beneath your experience and change it at the root. Using depth psychology, somatic work, and cognitive restructuring, I identify the patterns shaping your experience and deliberately replace them. The goal is to move from insight to lived, enduring change.

Fulfilling our potential is a lifelong journey of becoming more at peace with ourselves, deepening the intimacy in our relationships, being more authentically human, and feeling more alive each day. Along the way, certain challenges arise to cause us distress or confusion. Such moments can make us feel held back, afraid, or unsure of where to go from here. But these moments can also be the points of growth and healing from which we renew ourselves in ways we did not think possible.

Hello, my name is Geovanni Charles and I am a Licensed Practical Counselor in the state of PA. Originally from New York with a Caribbean background, I saw many instances growing up where mental health was at play, without many people aware of the extent it influenced everyone. My vision is one where mental health can be appreciated and provided to all, because we all have a right to be given help, especially when it comes to health. My mission is to help bridge that gap and provide mental health access to everyone, regardless of their class or status.

I’m Bess Lynch (she/her), a licensed therapist in both Ohio and Pennsylvania. I work with adults who are struggling with eating disorders, body image concerns, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Many of the people who find their way to my practice are capable, responsible, and used to being the one others lean on. They often hold themselves to very high standards and feel a lot of pressure to keep things together. On the outside, things may look “fine,” but internally it can feel exhausting, confusing, or lonely.

With ACT, CBT and DBT skills (e.g. ERP, cognitive restructuring, distress tolerance, core mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, & emotion regulation), we can stabilize and harness these emotions, improve our confidence, and realize our potential in all parts of life.
Many of us are navigating systems that were not designed to nourish us, and growing through hardships that leave us feeling isolated and overwhelmed. With an emphasis on personal liberation, I aim to empower those most marginalized (i.e. those who are LGBTQ+, POC, &/ Neurodiverse). I also specialize in managing Bipolar Disorder, OCD/OCD-spectrum disorders, PTSD, & Social Anxiety. Psychotherapy skills help us overcome obstacles and create a life of joy and wellbeing. By enhancing your strengths, reworking coping mechanisms, and reframing beliefs about yourself, you can find inner peace.

Using DBT, CBT, ACT, and IFS within a person-centered, trauma-informed framework, our work will be holistic, collaborative, & grounded in what feels safe and meaningful to you.
You might look like you’re holding it together on the outside — but inside, you feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or at war with your own mind and body. Maybe food, body image, or exercise has quietly taken up more space in your life than you’d like. Maybe anxiety runs in the background all day — overthinking conversations, replaying mistakes, feeling “too much” or somehow not enough. Maybe trauma or the past shows up in ways you can’t fully explain. Or maybe you’ve always felt a little different — neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, or simply not fitting into the boxes the world expects.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
