I am an eclectic therapist, which means I use whatever therapeutic orientations are useful depending on the client, drawing from EMDR, CBT, DBT, ACT, etc...
It's been my experience that people usually seek therapy when they have tried everything they know to improve their life and it's just not working. Clients are often quite desperate when they enter therapy. I believe my job as a therapist is to give people new options for what to do to make things better. I try to help with kindness and humor, drawing on a wealth of knowledge, information, and experience to help my clients achieve their goals, whatever they may be. I am continually awed by the amazing ability of the human spirit to grow, heal, and develop.

I utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT), EMDR, and The Daring WayTM Methodologies.
My ideal clients often feel overwhelmed, emotionally worn down, or stretched thin by seasons of transition and responsibility. Many are navigating pregnancy, postpartum, fertility challenges, chronic illness, caregiving, or the demands of medical work. They long for a space that feels steady, supportive, and just for them. My approach is experiential and relational—helping clients move beyond insight alone toward deeper healing, nervous system regulation, and lasting change. For those who value faith or spirituality, I can thoughtfully integrate this into our work if desired.

Nothing in your internal system is random. Even the parts of yourself that you hate have an important job to do.
I work with adults and teens who feel stuck in themselves, especially those with trauma, dissociation, or complex inner worlds. Many of my clients are LGBTQ+ or have learned to shape-shift or stay hyper-aware just to stay safe. You might feel like you’re too much, not enough, or constantly switching between the two. Together, we focus on understanding how your system works and building more stability, connection, and choice, while learning to tolerate uncertainty, without trying to force a change that won't stick.

While I use different therapy approaches like CBT, DBT, and ACT (which may seem structured on the surface), I stay flexible!
It can be hard to balance life, especially when we want to do well in every "role" we have. For this reason, I enjoy working with people who often hold different "roles" and are in need of a space of their own. I like to work with clients who are experiencing life transitions (e.g., starting a new job, becoming a partner/parent), in a helping/health profession, and those struggling with their eating and body image. I understand the stress of navigating a world consumed with diet culture and societal expectations, and like to help clients navigate these challenges from a Health at Every Size and anti-diet approach.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.
What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.
Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.
How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
