Hello! I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Licensed Behavioral Specialist (LBS) who has worked in the field of behavioral and mental health for almost ten years. My primary approach to services is applied behavior analysis. I am a believer in treating the whole person and sometimes that includes the modalities of play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness. I like to spend my free time playing with my son, going on dates with my husband, and am an avid animal lover who has three dogs and six cats. I think behavior change is one of the coolest endeavors! I can't wait to work with you!

The decision to seek help from a mental health professional is not an easy one. If you've never been in therapy before, you likely have no idea what to expect, and you may worry that you'll be judged, criticized, or labeled as "crazy." If you have been to therapy before, the thought of "starting all over" with someone new can also be overwhelming, especially if your previous experiences haven't been very helpful. Whether you're a therapy veteran or a newbie, I believe I can help.

I believe every one has their own unique potential in overcoming adversity. Life is not easy and often times we need support and someone to listen to our fears, hopes, dreams. We sometimes, need a nudge in a certain direction that we can't clearly see. I can help provide that nudge with whatever your are struggling with and provide insight on how to get there. I also do life coaching. Life coaching is different than therapy in that you may need guidance but not have a psychological disorder.

Hello! For 35 years I’ve helped children (9+), teens, and adults to take control of, manage, and overcome anxiety that has caused them suffering, and has created barriers to having a rich, happy and productive life.
One of the most common anxieties I treat is Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Clients learn how to handle and overcome persistent worry about everyday situations, perceiving events as threatening when they aren’t, chronic tension, fear of making the wrong decision, and panic attacks.

Having been in the mental health realm over 10 years now, I have learned that in life there can be great hurt, loss, and suffering but there is also great healing, hope, and joy. We all have a story we were made to tell. We were all made to heal and thrive in relationships. Each person's story is different but each person's story is full of strength, and courage. I'd like to walk with people on their road to healing and better health. I aim to help find resources of comfort, coping, and support. I hope to bring warmth, humor, and practical skills to help clients on their way, and help you lighten whatever burden you are carrying.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapists
Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?
Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviors that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.
Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioral therapy?
Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioral change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.
How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?
While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.
What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?
The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
