Embedded within an anti-oppressive framework, my approach to therapy draws from attachment theory, object relations theory, and somatic awareness.
I specialize in working with clients who have experienced trauma including PTSD, C-PTSD and dissociative disorders. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental, identity-affirming space where we can explore what may be causing difficulty in your life. I help my clients develop self-compassion and acceptance while addressing and healing the root causes of their trauma, anger, anxiety, depression, and grief. I view psychotherapy as a collaborative experience between therapist and client. Together we will envision where you want to be and I will support and challenge you to grow and heal.

I am passionate about providing a holistic approach that combines the power of Brainspotting (a somatic approach) & person centered therapy.
Do you ever feel like no matter how much you achieve, your anxiety, stress, or burnout never lets up? Perfectionism, overthinking, or past trauma may leave you tense, stuck, or constantly on edge. Your body might feel wired, your mind keeps racing, and you can’t fully relax even when life seems “fine.” You want relief, better focus, and a calmer, steadier moods. You want to thrive without being trapped by overwhelm, worry, or patterns that keep you from feeling truly present and maybe even laugh a little along the way.

Unfortunately, I am not accepting new clients at this time. Hello and welcome! I work primarily with adults experiencing emotional challenges. This often looks like depression, anxiety, grief, or trauma. I also work with individuals going through a transition in life, relationships, career, or health status. During a difficult season in life we are more open to learning new skills and perspectives.

I believe therapy is the process of getting to know and like yourself better. By looking inward, we discover how we support or undermine ourselves with thoughts, feelings, habitual body patterns and behaviors born out of pain and trauma. We start to distinguish our authentic self from who we think we need to be. When we have more information about ourself and more freedom to be authentic, we can then begin to make changes to better support ourself and create a life that is fulfilling.

The beauty of life can be hidden by the demands of time and resources. Thoughts of helplessness, frustration, and worry can be difficult to navigate. Constantly thinking about events or feelings that have had major impacts on our lives can prevent us from reaching our goals in life. To me reaching out for help to work through personal difficulties is one of the most important steps a person can take to begin to implement changes. I believe in the authenticity of the therapeutic relationship and how it is a source of strength for change.

I specialize in addiction recovery, trauma, life transitions, mood disorders, and somatic disconnects.
Nothing is inherently wrong with you. Forget any diagnosis and completing a bunch of forms. That diagnostic label (if any) only defines a temporary experience. How are you now and what needs to shift? That’s the goal. If your head is clouded; if your career, relationships, or health are stressful; if you can’t navigate options; if you feel stuck, unsure, or overwhelmed; if you can’t find relief… I will empower you. The power is in YOU to change your circumstances (and you will be put to work). I’ll help you become so self-aware that you wholeheartedly trust your intuition enough to find the answers: without doubt, fear, or guilt.

I often use exercises pulling from CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and somatic work live in the session, then we see what works and what doesn't.
Immediate virtual openings! I approach therapy with curiosity and nonjudgment and believe in fostering a safe space for growth and change. Therapy can be challenging and intimidating even with the best intentions. I focus on meeting you where you are and supporting, creating and meeting your goals. I work with individuals who might be struggling with: feeling guilt for everything, having difficulty with life transitions, recovering from trauma, breaking through silent expectations, living a life that feels unsupported or misunderstood, having difficulty managing stress and finding motivation, navigating relationships, and more.

Hello! I love to work with clients that are interested in learning more about themselves and growing towards their goals. I believe that you are the expert in the room, as you know yourself best! I am here to guide you towards your goals and provide a safe space for you to do so. I understand that therapy can seem intimidating, especially because we start out as strangers! I take this into account as we build our therapeutic relationship and tailor our conversations to best fit your goals and needs. I value honesty and communication in sessions, but I understand that may take some time. I'd love to help you reach your goals today!

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
