I'm trained in EMDR, somatic therapies, and other modalities, and I continue to seek advanced training to deepen my work.
I’d be honored to support you and help guide you as you navigate this season of life. In our work together, I focus on helping individuals manage their symptoms while fostering meaningful personal growth. We’ll collaborate to set clear goals and develop strategies to stay accountable between sessions, using tools like reflective prompts and supportive resources tailored to your needs. Many of the individuals I work with have experienced challenges such as childhood trauma, chronic stress, low self-esteem, feeling “stuck,” navigating life transitions, or dealing with hormonal shifts—just to name a few.

I have taken a master class on Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy, and I have a certificate in somatic trauma treatment.
If you are stuck feeling paralyzing anxiety, if you are unable to communicate the way you want to, if you are depressed and unsure how to get out of it, or unable to identify why something triggers you the way it does, therapy can be a useful tool for you. If you have trauma in your past and are unsure how it is impacting you or how to heal it, I can help. We all have difficulties in our lives and reaching out for help is not always the easiest thing to do. Therapy is a collaborative and private relationship where we can work together to help you identify what your needs and goals are and how to get there.

I have completed trainings in DBT and somatic therapy interventions.
I have lived experience with neurodivergence, depression, anxiety, and being in a plus sized body. I have experience working with the above as well as being trained in working with clients with BPD and clients who just feel like they need a safe space to discuss day to day life stressors. I stress to my clients that therapy is for everyone and there is no such thing as a "trauma olympics" where something is better or worse than others! I work with clients age 6+.

My therapy style is creative and somatic; I utilize expressive arts, play therapy, animal assisted therapy, sandtray therapy, dancing mindfulness, and geek therapy.
In the words of Mr. Rogers, “Play is really the work of childhood." I see kids who have prenatal, preverbal, or early childhood trauma; attachment and behavioral issues; or struggle with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and anger. I will work with you to create a flexible treatment plan tailored to your child's individual needs, using techniques like prescriptive play therapy, filial therapy, expressive arts, sandtray, geek therapy, and attachment-based activities to directly address and heal the impact of stress on the body and brain. I help identify the reasons for children’s behavior and healthier ways to meet those needs.

I am passionate about helping folks heal trauma in the body via EMDR and somatic techniques
I know scrolling through Psychology Today profiles can be frustrating, and challenging. Making sense of all of the therapy terms and acronyms, (oh so many of those!) can be exhausting. Assessing and finding your therapist 'fit' shouldn't be impossible. All of us have strengths, and the ability to feel joy. My aim is to help others identify interpersonal and systemic barriers standing in the way of growth. I am trauma informed, and an ACES DV survivor and advocate. I provide therapy in the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area and online. I have a strong clinical background in mood disorders and trauma treatment.

I'm talking about somatic strategy that offers the kind of inner steadiness that lets you live unmasked, whole, and deeply connected to your own pace.
You’ve unpacked a lot already. You understand your patterns, your history, your wiring — maybe more deeply than most. You’ve sat in therapy, journaled through grief, mapped out your nervous system responses, and named the roles you’ve had to play just to get by. And still, something hasn’t shifted. Not in the way you need it to. You’re not broken — you’re saturated. Saturated with strategies that don’t reach the stuck places. With insight that hasn’t had a chance to land in your body. With pressure to keep showing up “regulated” even when your insides are screaming. You need a different space, and that's where I come in.

Somatic Therapists

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
