The funny thing about life's hurts, they generally do not just get better on their own. Running from a problem is a race we will never win. My goal is to create a warm safe and relaxed place for you to explore, to discuss, to learn and maybe laugh. The outcome is for you to feel empowered in your life and to have HOPE. Changing or healing often require learning new skills so my approach is as much about coaching as it is about counseling. My primary counseling modes are Cognitive Diffusion and REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy). Together we create the tools for HOPE that are custom made for you.

Hi, I’m Jessica — a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to helping you reconnect with yourself. I’m passionate about supporting individuals as they identify and shift patterns that no longer serve them, heal from toxic or unbalanced relationships, and rediscover their true identity. Do you feel like there’s never enough time to care for yourself? Are you giving so much to others that you feel drained, with little left for you? Have you noticed that some relationships are one-sided, leaving you feeling unheard or crossing your personal boundaries? You don’t have to navigate these challenges alone.

Hi! I'm Dr. Weingarden - therapist and owner of Weingarden Psychological Services. At WPS, we gave a truly great team of therapists and medication prescribers. We put the person first and view you as an expert in your life while we can help you understand patterns and blind-spots, while building coping skills. We offer free consultations so everyone can be sure it is the right match, and I can help you find the right therapist in our practice (or sometimes outside). Our former nurse, medication manager, Kris, can pair you with the right prescribers too. We also offer a variety of assessments.

We believe that psychological well-being and healing come from our ability to foster awareness, understanding, and acceptance of our experience of life as a whole. Talking with a therapist can help facilitate this kind of personal growth.

You’re here because something feels stuck — in your relationship, in your sexual life, or in the way you show up with the people closest to you. Maybe you’re a couple caught in the same painful cycle, or a man trying to navigate vulnerability, desire, or shame on your own. You’ve probably tried to think your way through it. You want a therapist who will be specific about what’s actually happening — not someone who offers reassurance or generic tools, but someone trained to work with the particular complexity you’re bringing.

My job is to help you figure out your Work. What do you need to do? How do you need to do it? What's getting in the way of a full life experience? How can you just be you? I would like to help you reach the longer-lasting effects that are the consequences of an insight-based and action-oriented approach to counseling. Let's figure out what happened, how it's affecting you, and what we can do together to help you overcome it, learn from it, and grow. I find trauma work extremely rewarding. I attempt to help clients increase their awareness of their responses to trauma and get them back to meeting their needs in an independent way.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Therapists
What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?
Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.

How do therapists treat NPD?
By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.

Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?
Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.

How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?
It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
