You’re thoughtful and self-aware, but lately you feel disconnected, like you’ve lost touch with what you actually want. Maybe a relationship has shifted, your role has changed, or you’re questioning old beliefs that no longer fit. You’ve spent so long being who you should be that you’re unsure who you are. You want to feel grounded and genuine again, to trust yourself, honor your needs, and move through change with compassion instead of pressure. If starting feels overwhelming, we can take it one step at a time.

I’d like to help you understand how past and present experiences/relationships influence who you are, where you come from, where you’re headed and how you view the world around you. I am a strong advocate for anti-racism and equity and I believe strongly in the empowerment of BIPOC. I want to help you better understand the ways anxiety, depression, trauma, oppression, and marginalization affect your relationships with self, children, spouses, and loved ones. In the midst of so much situation and circumstance, I’d like to help you learn how to nurture, identify, and embrace elements of happiness and joy!

Do you find yourself carrying the invisible weight of everyone else’s needs while struggling to make time for your own? Maybe you’re balancing work, relationships, caregiving, or the unseen labor that often goes unnoticed by others. You may feel emotionally exhausted, disconnected from yourself, or unsure how to prioritize your own needs without guilt. If you’re ready to create more space for yourself, strengthen your boundaries, and reconnect with who you are outside of your responsibilities, therapy can help.

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, depression, or trauma I will be there with you. Do you feel misunderstood and alone? Do you feel like your emotions get the best of and know that you have potential for so much more? I believe being able to live the life you want is possible with the right support. You don't have to do this alone. You have a safe space here. Society can unfortunately be unkind to those that do not fit into a specific narrow box.

Becoming a parent is one of the most complex life events one can have. This change can evoke unexpected conflicting emotions, loss, understanding a new identity, isolation, and relational stress. Intrusive thoughts and low mood can impact a mother's experience in multifaceted ways. My focus is to compassionately support mothers during pregnancy, postpartum, and individual reproductive health needs. I deeply value the positive impact of the therapeutic relationship. My clinical approach includes combining supportive trauma-informed processing and evidence-based practices within the perinatal and postpartum scope.

My ideal clients are people navigating life's transitions, daily stress, or the lingering weight of past experiences — those who sense something needs to change but aren't sure where to start. They come seeking clarity, relief, and a stronger sense of self. I work collaboratively to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore what's holding you back, identify patterns that no longer serve you, and build new ones that do. Together, we'll find your voice and chart a path toward the life you actually want.

My work centers on mothers and women throughout adulthood, from singleness, to infertility to perinatal transitions to menopause.
I often begin with CBT to offer practical tools, and integrate Narrative Therapy to deepen understanding. I also draw on ACT and Solution-Focused Therapy to meet individual needs. These approaches are grounded in the Holding modality, which is the foundation of my practice.

You may look like you have it all together yet inside you feel anxious, exhausted, or like you’re never “enough.” The need to be “perfect”, frequent memories of past traumatic experiences, or challenges navigating unfulfilling relationships may have left you feeling disconnected from yourself and who you believe you truly are. You want to feel present, more confident, and at peace with yourself - to stop just “surviving” and start healing.

FAQ - Menopause Counseling
How can menopause affect mental health?
Menopause can bring physical and emotional changes that may affect mental health. Shifts in hormone levels can contribute to mood changes, irritability, anxiety, sleep disruption, and changes in energy or concentration. For some people, menopause may also worsen existing mental health concerns, such as depression or anxiety. Menopause may also happen during a period of other life stress, such as caring for children or aging parents, navigating relationship changes, or managing a demanding career. These stressors, combined with symptoms like poor sleep, hot flashes, and fatigue, can make it harder to cope emotionally.

How can therapy help with menopause symptoms?
Therapy can provide a space to process the emotions that may come with menopause and midlife more broadly. A therapist can help you identify patterns in mood, stress, or sleep, and may suggest tracking thoughts or symptoms to better understand what is contributing to emotional challenges. Therapy can also help with the impact menopause may have on relationships, work, or daily life. For example, a therapist may help you navigate how irritability, fatigue, or low mood is affecting communication with a partner, family member, or colleagues. They may also encourage strategies that generally support good mental health, such as physical exercise, stress management, and good sleep.

What is menopause-informed therapy?
Menopause-informed therapy means that a therapist understands how menopause can affect mental and physical health. It is not a specific type of therapy like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, nor does it necessarily indicate a therapist who has a specific certification or level of quality. The most important factor is finding a therapist who is comfortable discussing menopause and its possible impact on mental health. Some therapists may describe themselves as menopause-informed, while others may have relevant experience even if they do not use that exact phrase. During an initial consultation, it can be very helpful to ask whether a prospective therapist has worked with clients navigating menopause and midlife transitions.

Should I see a therapist instead of or alongside a doctor for menopause?
Therapists and doctors have different roles, so whether you see one or both depends on your symptoms and goals. A therapist can help with the emotional, cognitive, and relational effects of menopause. A doctor, by contrast, can assess and treat physical symptoms, such as hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disruption, or bone health concerns. If both emotional and physical symptoms are affecting you, it may be helpful to see both a therapist and a doctor. Support in one area may also make the other easier to manage. For example, medical treatment, including hormone therapy when appropriate, may help improve symptoms like sleep disruption or hot flashes, which can in turn support mood and emotional wellbeing.
