I am doing Telehealth only which I find to be effective. I have a great passion for working with my clients. Much of my current focus is working with individuals who have concerns related to: 1. building and sustaining stronger relationships (partner, work,
family
, etc.) 2. issues of anxiety, panic, and depression - including loss/grief. 3. Work and career challenges, including the high stress of balancing work and personal life. I've also been successful with clients who not only want to get out of the "rut" of the their lives, but who also want to explore their desire for genuine happiness, contentment, and peace of mind.

I wanted to get into the mental health field from a young age, as I was always surrounded by friends and
family
who struggled with mental health.
I am a Licensed Social Worker with a passion for decreasing the stigma surrounding mental health and promoting the health and well being of my clients. For my undergraduate degree, I moved from Central Jersey (Yes! It exists!) to South Jersey to attend Stockton University. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work with a Minor in Behavioral Neuroscience from Stockton, and then moved on to attend graduate school in Philadelphia. I received my Master of Social Work Degree with a clinical concentration from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice in May of 2020.

My training and orientation are mainly psychodynamic, but I utilize multiple theories and techniques, including mindfulness,
family
systems, as well as my background in cultural anthropology.
I see therapy as a nonjudgmental space dedicated to the client, where exploration of the present and the past are made possible. I mostly work with professionals and graduate students who want to better understand themselves, their difficulties, and their relationships. I appreciate the opportunity of working with clients (and couples) who are trying to manage the daily challenges of life, while also struggling with their relationships — be it with
family
members, friends, or with themselves — and to provide them with a supportive space to reach insights, identify patterns, and process life’s challenges and transitions.

Many people have wounds from spiritual experiences from their
family
, culture, or churches that have lead to confusion, anger, feeling lost or disconnected from self,
family
, or God.
Have you been feeling lonely, disconnected or not like yourself? Maybe there are issues from the past that you haven't dealt with that you would like to heal without feeling overwhelmed. Or possibly you feel swept away by your emotions and don't know how to get them under control. Perhaps you are feeling stuck, frustrated or tired. Oftentimes these issues can lead to anxiety, depression, or other mental health issues. My specialty is in helping you identify & address the root issues, develop the skills to deal with those issues, while getting in better relationship with yourself and with God through Christian-based counseling.

I am experienced in Ecosystemic-Structural
family therapy
which I apply to my work with families, parents, and teens.
I believe that therapy is a co-created process meant to bring awareness within ourselves and our relationships to create meaningful change. I believe that everyone has the natural capacity to have a fulfilling and desired quality of life. Healing comes into play in order to meet life’s obstacles so that growth and integration can happen. I look at relative trauma as well as impact from larger systems. I use mind-body awareness practices to help bring alignment within authentic self. I work to bring non-judgement and trust as transformation occurs. I look to help you explore within yourself, in relationships, families, and society.

My ideal clients have issues with anxiety, depression, addiction and grief. Those who have little to no
family
support or friend network to rely on during difficult times. I work with people who struggle with alcoholism and drug abuse and repeated relapse. Many of my clients need help making life decisions especially between the ages of 16-26. Also those who are in transition either from divorce, from college to the workplace and single parents. Most everyone needs to know if they are going to be okay and if they are, how will they be okay.

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
