My practice is also informed by Relational Cultural Therapy, which acknowledges how systemic forces affect our well being and the importance of nurturing healthy relationships (yet another thing that can feel impossible!).
Everyone deserves to feel connected and secure. For many of us, this can feel impossible at certain points of our lives. Even if we have a pretty good idea of the "whys" of how we lost our connection to a happy life, figuring out the "what to do about it" is a little more difficult. Therapy can help with this.

Together, we will explore how your identity, your relationships, the stories you tell yourself, and the stories you have been told about yourself interact with social and historical context to create the life you are living.
We will identify the strategies you have developed over your lifetime, and you will decide which you want to keep, which you want to change, and which new strategies you want to learn. I believe that you are in control of your journey. Along the way, you may encounter challenges that make you feel lost, stuck, overwhelmed, or anxious.

As a health psychologist, I work with people interested in the health of the mind, body, and spirit. Stress, Anxiety, and Depression are often related to both physical and mental conditions so the whole person responds to treatment. Mood is a function of the mental, physical, and spiritual state so treatments involving all parts of the self are most effective. Clients with trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, and short-term issues are the typical clients in the practice. Sessions are primarily telehealth. I accept Medicare insurance and private pay.

"What one focuses upon expands." This can apply to problem states as well as success. "You get what you think about whether you want it or not." "What one appreciates-appreciates." When we purposefully calibrate/vibrate toward well being, ease, satisfaction, and happiness expands. One can savor and enjoy the process of co-creating with ongoing expansion.

The philosophy of therapy at the Center is both collaborative and holistic. Clinicians view therapy as a collaboration between their clients and themselves. In addition to resolving the client's specific concerns, clinicians empower their clients with the ability to enrich their overall quality of life beyond problem solving. Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
