Seeking help requires a vulnerability that can be uncomfortable and scary at times. I want to commend you for making that choice for yourself. I am originally from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was an international student in the US. The experiences faced by immigrants and international students can be challenging and lonely which I have a deep understanding of. As a therapist, I focus on helping individuals’ transition and adapt through increasing their awareness. I am focused on practicing cultural humility when working with clients.

As humans, we’re all wired for connection, but unfortunately, many of us did not get our most basic emotional needs met in our early development. Do you find yourself struggling with interpersonal relationships, effective communication, or emotional regulation? Have you experienced traumatic or stressful events that have left you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unable to move forward in your life? Do you find yourself coping in unhealthy ways such as codependent behaviors, self-harm, substance use or isolation?

Throughout my years of being a therapist, I have changed my focus and have grown and learned more about how our mind and body all connect. I continue to use the same approaches but I have adapted them to a more holistic approach. My number one goal for each individual that steps into my office is to create a better sense of self and to be more aware of the present moment.

Everyone comes to a point in their life where they find themselves struggling to reach their potential. Whether this struggle includes feelings of depression or anxiety, or it involves a deeper issue, no one has to go through the struggle alone. Sometimes we go through unexpected changes, whether in our professional life, our personal relationships, or even the state of the world. It is times like these where having the right support matters most.

One of my favorite quotes "Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly." I believe we all have the capacity for change and to live a life that is fulfilling and meaningful. Creating a safe space to help you process your thoughts, feelings, and emotions to ensure you feel validated and heard is important to me. Anxiety, mood disorders, and relational issues can be difficult and overbearing to navigate on our own at times. I will encourage you to set small attainable, yet realistic goals suitable to what you want to achieve.

I am currently accepting new clients! I help people focus on their self-awareness, acceptance, and accountability. I assist them to identify the changes they want to make and positive ways to do so. I listen to a person’s story and how they let it define them. I help people rewrite their own narrative, discarding actions or feelings others have placed on them. I help people work through emotions surrounding their own behaviors, thoughts, and beliefs.

My clients come to session ready to show up for themselves. They are open to learn and grow into their authentic selves. The majority of my clients have experienced traumatic events and come to me with feelings of anxiety/depression. Many are ready to learn to navigate stress, life transitions, and struggles within their relationships with others and themselves. I work within the LGBTQIA+ community and provide an open and inclusive space to help ensure feelings of acceptance, safety, and affirmation. As a member of the community I know the importance of this safe space.

Counseling is an opportunity to set aside time for yourself to learn how to use your strengths to overcome challenges, and meet your needs and wants. I have experience with client's who have gone through a variety of challenges including; trauma, depression, anxiety, life challenges/transitions, women's issues, parenting and relationship challenges. I also work with parents of children diagnosed with an anxiety disorder using Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE). Using this evidenced based framework I'm able to meet with parent(s) only with the result of reducing their child's (and therefore family's) anxiety.

Depression and anxiety are so very common and so little understood. I am interested in helping people come to terms with what is keeping them from living a contented life. Suffering is part of life. However, with compassion, empathy and understanding from an important other, it can be navigated successfully and dealt with in a way that allows growth. I want to help you get unstuck from the emotions, thoughts and behaviors that are keeping you unfulfilled. While this can be a lengthy process, it can be seen as a significant investment in yourself.

Throughout my 10 years working in mental health, I have learned how important it is to our healing to be connected in heart and body. I believe building a better understanding of this mind-body connection and the impact it can have on both our physical and mental health is critical in symptom management, emotional regulation, stress management, overall health and wellness, and navigating our everyday life in this world.

Hi there! My name is Taylor, and I'm a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor. I have experience working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, relationship concerns, and identity development.
