I have extensive experience supporting couples (including ENM and mixed-neurotype) and individuals heal attachment wounds, strengthen communication skills, and live life with meaning. My style is collaborative, sex positive, and affirming of neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ experiences. Therapy with me is about building genuine connection, deepening self-trust and showing up fully in your relationships. My background in both relationship and rehabilitation counseling gives me a unique lens in understanding how life’s challenges and differences may shape the way we love, communicate, and connect.

Hello! I’m so glad you’re here. Like many of us, you might be dealing with trauma, burnout, stress, existential dread, or navigating neurotypical society as a neurodivergent person. Maybe you’re feeling stuck, isolated, or disconnected from yourself, or you’re exploring gender or sexuality. I welcome and celebrate your human-ness and your autonomy.

Have you heard the phrase "If you're going through Hell, keep going”? Sometimes in our darkest moments, we need cheerleaders. We need people who recognize that what we are going through seems unbearable and that the simple act of going forward takes courage. Therapy can be the vehicle to help us move forward. When treatment is non-judgmental, supportive and encouraging, you and your therapist can make an unstoppable team. I believe that people want to be "well," but we just don't know an effective way to achieve it. Together, we can work on identifying your personal path to wellness and improved confidence in your strengths.

Therapy should be a space where you can find empathy and gently challenge areas of your life that distress you. My goal as a therapist is to support you in exploring your desires, needs, and identities in order for you to live with authenticity. I work with individuals seeking to explore what is preventing you from finding comfort and safety in your everyday life. I aim to find strengths in your struggles and guide you towards a deeper understanding of who you are. Some areas I am passionate about include: trauma, suicidality/self-harm, navigating identities, dismantling shame, and navigating the world with neurodivergence.

Do you struggle with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, burnout, or feeling disconnected from yourself or others? Even if you’ve learned ways to cope, do you feel ready to process what you’ve been holding and begin healing more deeply? The clients I work best with are thoughtful, resilient individuals who want to better understand their experiences and reclaim a sense of safety, balance, joy, and meaning in their lives. Some are curious about exploring creative expression as a way to access emotions and experiences that may be difficult to talk about directly.

Accepting new clients! I help people overcome difficulty and use it to grow and pursue a life of meaning and purpose. Sometimes we start by treating stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, career, or LGBTQ+ and other identity issues, and over time turn to deeper issues about the life you want to create, your identity, and your values. I’m a humanistic counselor, which means I’ll never tell you what to do and I’ll always empower you to make the choice that’s best for you. I use a collaborative, gentle approach that helps you connect with your intuitive sense of self and your intrinsic motivation to grow and do difficult things.

As a couples & sex therapist, I work with a variety of concerns such as improving direct communication, rebuilding intimacy, navigating mismatched sexual desire, repair from infidelity, exploring kink & BDSM dynamics with care, opening up one's relationship to polyamory/other consensual non-monogamy configurations, and pelvic and sexual pain.
I believe we show up best when we have strong, empowered relationships with ourselves and with others. I lean towards a casual, relational and assertive style. I will challenge you while holding a warm and encouraging space for you to explore and process. I truly enjoy working with folks from all walks of life, but especially with couples, groups, and families who may be seen as "non traditional.” I work with folks grappling with newfound ADHD or Autism, those processing family of origin, roommates who want to work through conflict better, trans folks navigating complex family dynamics, and so much more!

Three beliefs I hold that influence how I practice are 1) human beings are not problems to be solved 2) therapy is ultimately about relationship 3) the process itself is the solution. We humans are infinitely complex; we're full of opposition and paradox. Our culture pushes quick fixes and immediate answers, but lasting change rarely comes about when we work in this way. I'm interested in helping you come into fuller, richer, more conscious relationship with all of your moving and sometimes disparate parts. Together we will work from the inside out through a deep, relational process.

My focus includes trauma-informed therapy for LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent individuals. I predominantly work with adolescents and young adults. I utilize evidence-based, affirming practices to support my clients in processing trauma, regulating mood instability, improving relationships, coping with life transitions, and building confidence in themselves. For folx that may benefit from something a bit different than traditional talk therapy, I like to incorporate a variety of activities to support the therapeutic process. This can include walk and talk or outdoor therapy, art, play, and EMDR.

Therapy and personal change of any form occurs best through relationships based on trust and a common purpose. Relationships where you are encouraged to say what’s on your mind, be challenged, take risks, and gain new insights. As a therapist, I focus intently on honoring your autonomy as we collaborate to work towards your goals for therapy. My intention is not to teach you a “correct way to live” but instead to learn about you in all your complexities as you navigate this chaotic world. I see my job as helping to create a space for you to explore yourself further, leading to new possibilities for your life.

Open Relationships Non-Monogamy Therapists
Why might an individual want to see a therapist specializing in open relationships and consensual non-monogamy?
A client seeking help with an open or consensually non-monogamous relationship will prefer to talk with a professional whom they can count on to be nonjudgmental. Talking with a supportive therapist may on its own help relieve some of the stigma and challenges partners face. That said, the most important factor in the success of any type of therapy is the ability of the client and practitioner to form a strong, trusting bond. For this reason, an individual or couple could find success with a therapist who does not specialize in non-monogamous relationships but with whom they can build trust.

When should open or consensually non-monogamous partners seek counseling?
Like other couples, polyamorous partners typically seek counseling when they face relationship challenges they can’t solve themselves. In non-monogamous relationships, this could include breaches of trust, including infidelity; unclear rules or violations of boundaries; jealousy of outside partners; the stress of juggling the needs of multiple partners; or the effect of high partner turnover on children. Like those of other couples, polyamorous bonds can be threatened by increasingly frequent arguments, poor or dysfunctional communication, diminished emotional or physical intimacy, or the feeling that something is wrong, even if they don’t know what it is.

Do therapists have special training to gain expertise in open relationships and consensual non-monogamy?
No, but individuals seeking help with non-monogamous relationships would most likely consult a licensed professional with specific training in couples counseling or couples therapy. Couples counseling and couples therapy both involve teaching concrete strategies to navigate conflict in relationships. A good therapist can engage both partners as they explain these approaches but can also work with a single partner.

How long does therapy for consensually non-monogamous couples typically last?
Couples therapy for any type of couple, tends to be relatively time-limited, lasting around 12 weeks on average. A good therapist will tailor sessions to the individual partners’ emotions and sometimes their past, along with patterns found to be repeating in the relationship. In many cases, clients should expect their therapist to assign “homework” between weekly sessions.
