In today’s fast-paced, overwhelming world, many people struggle with anxiety, depression, and overstimulation without knowing why. Often, these symptoms stem from unresolved past trauma stored in the nervous system. My own journey began with anxiety around perfection, rule-following, and pleasing others. Through extensive training, I’ve learned how to process trauma and restore balance. Now, I am here to support your healing journey. You deserve to become the best version of yourself!

I bring a collaborative, grounded approach shaped by over a decade working in professional sports.
My ideal clients are teens and adults who might appear capable, driven, and successful on the outside but feel anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected internally. Many are navigating performance pressure, identity questions, relationship stress, or major life transitions. They’re often used to pushing through and minimizing their own needs, yet privately struggle with self-doubt, emotional overload, or a sense of being stuck. They want clarity, relief, and a way to feel more grounded and aligned without losing their sense of strength or direction.

We continue to face unprecedented times in a very difficult world. I'm a firm believer that everyone, (yes...everyone!) could benefit from working with a therapist. With more than a decade of mental health work under my belt, I specialize in men's mental wellness, trauma/PTSD and anxiety - as well as athletic/performance counseling. My approach is a very collaborative one, where I support my clients by helping them build a wellness toolkit that they can rely in sessions, as well as out in the real world. It’s commendable to consider starting therapy. Life can present challenges that are difficult to navigate, but the willingness to confront them offers opportunity for insight, increased purpose, and improved wellbeing. I work with people who are often very capable and thoughtful but find themselves stuck in certain patterns—whether that’s around relationships, anxiety, or the pressure to perform at a high level. My focus is on helping clients better understand the deeper dynamics driving those patterns, so they can make more intentional choices and feel more in command of how they live and relate to others.

My ideal client is an athlete or high performer (entrepreneurs and ambitious professionals) who appears confident and accomplished but internally struggles with performance anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, comparison, or fear of failure. They want to improve performance, strengthen their mindset, and feel more in control during high-pressure moments. They are seeking therapy that blends mental health support with mental skills training. Together we build confidence, emotional resilience, focus, and a sustainable path to success, so their mental health supports their performance, not competes with it.

Employed in the field of social and mental health services for 30 years. Working in a variety of settings has offered me the opportunity to understand human behavior and in general what makes people tick. This may sound odd to the lay person but my vast working experiences in places like foster care, drug and alcohol, mobile mental health services to children in their own home has truly prepared me to get a really good sense of how to get to the root of the problem and provide the necessary support to clients not strictly coming from an academic viewpoint.

Sports Performance Therapists
How does sports psychology work?
Sports psychology helps athletes identify and overcome challenges, such as perfectionism or a fear of failure, and improve key mental skills, such as confidence or concentration. By applying principles and techniques from psychology, such as goal-setting, visualization, positive self-talk, and emotion regulation, sports psychologists help athletes improve their performance on the field and their well-being overall.

How long does treatment for a sports-related problem take?
The duration of sports psychology treatment depends on the athlete’s individual challenges, goals, the complexity of the interventions used, and even on the length of the season. A performance anxiety issue may be treated with a short-term treatment, like Cognitive behavioural therapy, while issues such as depression, substance abuse, or severe anxiety may require longer-term treatments.

How effective is treatment for sports performance problems?
Sports psychology has been shown to improve performance and help athletes manage their emotions. Sports psychology can be effective in boosting performance, team dynamics, and injury rehabilitation. Over the past decade, nearly every professional sports team in every major sport has added a sports psychologist to its staff. Many colleges have done the same, and even some high school programs have done the same. Olympic hopefuls may consult with sports psychologists starting in elementary school.

What are the limitations of sports psychology?
Sports psychology may have several limitations. Every athlete is unique and may respond differently to sports psychology treatments. Therapy can help an athlete reach their potential; it can help athletes cope with injury and pain, but it cannot change the physical limitations that may be affecting an athlete’s performance.
