I offer holistic therapy to help women escape the veil of anxiety and live with authenticity. Clients I work with struggle with complex emotions. Despite being intelligent, hard-working, and having a witty sense of humor, life isn’t all rainbows and sunshine. When they first come to see me, they are exhausted by the never ending loop of “what if” scenarios and often find themselves trying to be perfect or pretend that they "have it all together." If you’re ready to drop anxiety and find self-compassion, I'm your gal. We will work together in reclaiming your inner knowing, finding your voice, and living your most authentic life.

I know that these experiences live in the brain and the body and I often incorporate
somatic
practices in my approach.
My work is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and connection. I come to clinical social work with a deeply held belief that all people are deserving of care and I have seen how a safe and collaborative therapeutic relationship can offer support when that care has been challenged. I know that part of healing means acknowledging and working beyond the systems that have caused harm and that this involves actively employing an anti-oppressive lens that refuses to pathologize trauma survival. I understand my clients are the experts on their experiences and I am committed to creating a practice that affirms people of all backgrounds.

Somatic
Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy and Psychosynthesis.
I help a wide range of clients: those seeking personal growth as well as those moving through depression, anxiety, betrayal, grief, career and life transitions or interpersonal tensions or conflicts. I assist individuals, couples and leaders during times of conflict or life/career transition to move with intention toward new possibilities. My whole-person model considers mental, physical, and emotional health in a unified way. I am queer/gender-affirming, sex-positive, kink/BDSM-affirming, and fat-positive (Health at Every Size-aligned). Areas of interest & specialty include: Generalized anxiety & depression, spiritual & existential concerns,
somatic
& body-centered work, women’s issues, couples, creatives, helping professionals, HSPs, life transitions, grief & loss, relationships & sexuality, LGBTQ+ issues.
Three beliefs I hold that influence how I practice are 1) human beings are not problems to be solved 2) therapy is ultimately about relationship 3) the process itself is the solution. We humans are infinitely complex; we're full of opposition and paradox. Our culture pushes quick fixes and immediate answers, but lasting change rarely comes about when we work in this way. I'm interested in helping you come into fuller, richer, more conscious relationship with all of your moving and sometimes disparate parts. Together we will work from the inside out through a deep, relational process.

No matter what challenge you are facing, making the decision to enter therapy is one of the most important steps we can take on the path to healing. I do not believe any of us were born to suffer. I seek to help my clients find the opportunities for growth that our challenges present us with. While I support my clients to learn to sit with and accept that difficult emotions are a part of living, I also help clients to identify where unnecessary suffering is created by limited beliefs and self concepts. By resolving unhealed traumas and the burdens of the past, we can experience a more wholehearted, joyful life.

My person-centered,
somatic
and humanistic approach to movement therapy encourages you to tap into your sensations, feelings, intuition and interpretation.
My focus of interest is to become a therapeutic container to support the exploration of the mind-body connection within children, teens and adults. I believe that the body carries valuable information about ourselves and our minds are actively trying to interpret it. I specialize in children who seek to improve their body awareness which provides coping skills for self-regulation, positive self-talk and overall physical/mental wellness. I have experience working with children with autism, adopted families, neurodivergent movers and people simply want a better connection with their bodies

somatic
work, mindfulness, yoga, and evidence based skills for trauma recovery.
Healing is the process of restoring wholeness, and I am dedicated to providing the compassionate, understanding, reflective, and trusting space that is essential for you to heal, grow, and (re)learn to trust your own innate wisdom. We all have full capacity for self-confidence, peace, and meaningful connection, but stressors like complicated relationships, loss, systemic oppression, and trauma can cause self-doubt, anxiety, depression, and ineffective coping patterns, all of which can be transformed and healed. Together we can restore and enhance your most grounded, confident and healthy self, deepen insight, and improve coping.

Hey there! Therapy can be such an overwhelming process to get started with, especially when you may already be struggling with feelings of burnout, depression, or anxiety that make everyday tasks feel monumental. With over 9 years experience, my approach to therapy is strengths-based, person-centered, affirming, anti-oppressive, and relational. Together we will consider functional strategies to help you close the gap between the life you're living, and the life you envision for yourself.

As a holistic,
somatic
& depth-oriented therapist, I work best with those who feel ready to explore what's beneath the surface.
Are you endlessly curious about yourself, how you came to be, and when you’ll finally “arrive” to the life you’ve been working so hard to build? People see your resilience and success, but they don’t really know YOU. It can feel lonely & tiring to have to to hide the parts of you that feel like they still just don't quite fit in. Owning our gifts, releasing the intergenerational trauma we carry, shifting from simply existing to thriving - this is deep, powerful work. You are worthy of the space, time and energy it takes to heal and live the life that you desire. Together we can finally address the root causes beneath your symptoms.

I like to combine relational and insight orientated psychodynamic psychotherapy with cognitive-behavioral, behavioral and
somatic
modalities.
The psychotherapy I practice provides my clients with relief from feeling unhappy, with a better understanding of their unhappiness, and gives them hope for the future. To achieve these goals, I seek to develop a trusting connection by listening carefully to the experiences and feelings my clients describe; what they put into words, and what they may not have said. As both the client and I begin to explore and understand these experiences, new patterns of thought and then behavior emerge. This is how, together, we create the space for healing, and thereby new opportunities arise in their lives.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.
Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.
Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.
What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
