Throughout our time together, I may draw from psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, EMDR, and mindfulness techniques when appropriate.
Overwhelming feelings, difficult life transitions, and relationship challenges are normal; but they can take a major toll on the quality of your life and your sense of well-being. In my decade of clinical experience, I've seen therapy provide relief, clarity, and empowerment. I’m here to help you identify long-standing patterns of thinking, behaving, and feeling that may be keeping you stuck. Through increased insight and awareness it becomes possible to challenge the narratives and behaviors that are no longer serving you and find alternate ways of relating to yourself and others.

My approach is primarily relational and psychodynamic, meaning that our work is rooted in the relationship that unfolds between us and how it may illuminate aspects of your relationships to yourself, to others, and to the systems around us—keeping in mind the impact of histories both personal and collective.
I think of therapy as a space where we can explore not only what is difficult or distressing, but also what is joyful, connective, warm, and creative. I believe that noticing what goes unspoken is just as important as recognizing the patterns in your life, and that not-knowing goes hand-in-hand with curiosity. While I work with clients of all identities and areas of concern, I have a specific background in working with people under the LGBTQ+ umbrella, people exploring their relationships to their bodies, people who are neurodivergent and/or disabled, and people with complex, intergenerational, and/or cultural trauma histories.

I draw from relational, psychodynamic and trauma-informed approaches and am guided by an understanding that early pivotal relationships and experiences shape our narrative about ourselves.
At times our life-circumstances can create such overwhelm, isolation, confusion and pain that we struggle to make sense of or to overcome them on our own. Having the support and understanding of a warm, collaborative therapist can help you face and work through difficult issues as you move into resilience, balance and a strengthened identity. As a psychotherapist in practice for over ten years, I am guided by the belief that, at our core, we each want to be known, understood and respected by others. I strive to help clients build new insights and perspectives about their lives and to restore their connections to their true selves.

Do you struggle with shame, depression, anxiety and self reproach about your compulsive eating? Are you also struggling with general anxiety and depression that is keeping you lonely and isolated even if you are in a relationship? In an empathic, collaborative manner I create a safe environment with a high level of skill, patience and creativity and sense of humor to help you make positive meaningful changes. My strong psychodynamic background is combined with other modalities in an integrated approach. Good therapy should offer knowledge and insight and provide practical tools to help you grow and strategies for coping.

Are you ready to navigate the complexities of your life and discover profound healing? My approach is rooted in the belief that healing begins with understanding and embracing the unknown aspects of our experiences. I specialize in treating trauma, disordered eating, body image struggles, and sexuality issues. I enjoy the thrill of not knowing what we are going to uncover next about each person I work with. I work from a lens of body positivity and fat positivity, decolonizing therapy, feminist, systems, and psychodynamic approaches.

I have advanced training in psychodynamic therapy and in MBSR (mindfulness skills), and I think these tools, in a caring therapeutic relationship, can help a lot.
Maybe you’ve been depressed, anxious, or feeling bad about yourself. Maybe you’re tired of this, and want to get to the roots of these feelings, so you can heal. Often present symptoms are built on traumatic past experiences, the feelings associated, and the narratives and strategies that you created to make sense of it all. I believe healing comes when you examine these experiences, feel the feelings in a safe, caring environment, and view these experiences in a fresh, more accurate, more compassionate light. You can then rewrite the narratives that have held you back, and start to try out all kinds of new things in your life.

My work as a therapist and social worker focuses on a psychodynamic/psychoanalytic lens.
I embrace questions of identity and belonging, especially around culture and sexuality. I provide therapy in English, Spanish, and Spanglish. Prior to TCP, I have worked with survivors of domestic violence and within the immigrant community in Philadelphia in case management and organizing work. I believe that the personal is political and that there is much work to be done to provide access to therapy that is affordable, honoring a person’s culture, and in a person’s preferred language.

My clinical styles are relational and psychodynamic and I've worked with agencies to modernize addiction treatment with harm reduction psychotherapy.
I strive to create a collaborative, nonjudgmental space conducive to meaningful self-examination and change. My style is curious, at times challenging and, at others, affirming. I work with you to compassionately explore your life and identify new possibilities, as well as alter unrecognized habits that inhibit satisfaction and personal growth. Therapy with me is a compassionate and dedicated inquiry to help you feel better and thrive. 'Thriving' is unique to each of us and I will work with you define your idea of a fulfilling life, keeping in mind it may differ from social ideals ill-suited to satisfy many of us.

My specialty is working with individuals and couples from psychodynamic and family systems perspectives.
I have had over 30 years of experience working with clients who are experiencing difficulties at transition times in their lives. I work with adolescents, adults and the elderly who are going through challenges associated with life cycle changes such as relationship problems, school or job related problems or dealing with chronic or acute medical problems. I work from a family systems perspective and often work with family members of those experiencing the kinds of issues I mentioned above. Many of the clients I work with present with depression, anxiety, anger, significant loss , couples issues and/or parenting issues.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist located near Rittenhouse Square. While I have experience with a wide range of issues, I am especially skilled in working with depression, anxiety, loneliness, loss, shame, and sexual and gender identity concerns. My approach to treatment is relational and psychodynamic. This means that I strive to maintain a strong focus on the relationship—both the therapeutic and real, human relationship—between the client and me. To this end, I believe that the therapeutic relationship is itself a powerful agent for change and can serve as a foundation for addressing numerous real-world problems.

I work with adults and teens using primarily a psychodynamic lens – examining how past experiences underlie our current behaviors and emotions often around interpersonal relationships and identity / sense of self.
My interest in becoming a therapist was personal, having had my own journey with mental health and throughout my adult life helping friends and family navigate a wide range of challenges ranging from abrupt loss to life-long anxiety and depression. I found that people needed not an expert or directives, but someone to listen attentively and help explore without judgement. While schooling and practice allowed me to build my clinical lens and techniques, I believe the therapist-client relationship remains the most crucial tool in allowing exploration to occur effectively and safely.

I hope to collaboratively explore the layers of your inner world by building a safe-enough space through our relationship. Therapy can be (and is almost always) a painful and vulnerable experience, yet also immensely rewarding. My therapy process seeks to identify how all internal and external forces throughout our life shape who we are and how we navigate the world today, to enact change. Non-judgmental curiosity and compassion are essential in this process. I primarily practice from a trauma-informed, relational psychodynamic lens, but often integrate components of CBT, humanism, somatic awareness, and family systems theory.

My approach is based on human development, EMDR, client-oriented, psychodynamic, somatic, systems psychotherapies, hypnosis, and biofeedback.
I help individuals and couples work on trauma, psychological and relational issues and behaviors so that they can resolve them and enrich their lives. I have been a clinical psychologist since the mid-eighties and I view our work together as a collaborative process. I will begin by learning about and understanding you and your problem and we will figure out together what has contributed to your difficulties. The next step is to create a treatment plan tailored to you and your goal/s. Treatment consists of resolving these difficulties and re-accessing joy and interest in life.

My approach is psychodynamic, meaning I am interested in how your past shapes your experience of the present.
Our painful experiences and the conditions of our society often push us to disconnect from our authentic selves, relationships, communities, and the world around us. I view healing as a process of reconnection. In our work together, we will aim to make sense of your story, explore all the parts of you that make you who you are, and work through places where you feel stuck. Through this process, my hope is that you can live your life with more agency and authenticity, more skills and tools to manage the challenges, and more capacity to experience ease, connection, and the full range of human emotions.

I am certified in psychodynamic psychotherapy.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor providing individual therapy services online. I am interested in working with individuals who are motivated, trusting, and open to the prospect of therapy. Therapy at its best can be a form of education. My ideal clients are individuals who may feel stuck, anxious, or depressed, who are interested in delving deeper into what is behind these states of being.

My therapeutic approach is quite person-centered, integrating feminist and attachment theory with a psychodynamic framework.
Our issues are often not inherently “ours” but a result of being a human simply trying to survive, seeking safety and comfort as we've learned. Working with individuals and relational systems, I look forward to exploring all aspects of identity/experience together and providing a non-judgmental space that moves through fear & shame toward radical (self) acceptance and healing. Being afforded the opportunity to know people deeply is a privilege; I seek to create and continually foster a space that feels safe enough to thoroughly explore, while being an anchor in difficult moments– a reminder that you are held and you are not alone.

I am a licensed professional counselor that is person-centered and utilizes psychodynamic, existential and CBT/DBT/ACT approaches.
I view the mental health recovery process as similar to climbing a mountain: the first steps may feel overwhelming at times, however, therapy is a partnership where I can provide tools that help my clients get where they would like to go, while also building resiliency and strength for the future. Throughout the process, I will provide encouragement and at times, remind you to look back at how far you have come. Furthermore, I provide a non-judgmental and empathic space for this journey to occur.
