Asking for help is fucking hard. But let's be real, what you're doing now isn't necessarily easy either... lying awake replaying conversations wondering if you sounded weird. Rewriting the same message three times before hitting send. Creating fake emergencies to bail out on plans last minute. Assuming someone's mad at you because they didn’t respond right away. You don’t have to keep spiraling like this. You can learn to stop getting pulled into every anxious thought your brain throws at you.

If you’re here, it’s likely that that something is hurting. You may doubt if who you are is “fixable”, or if you or your relationships are even worth fixing. I have helped men and women with anxiety, depression, shame, trauma, life transitions and self-definition, and I’ve helped people with their romantic, marital, and family relationships. After decades of working with people – as a clergyman, chaplain, teacher, and now therapist – I know that each of us is more resourceful, more flexible, more worthy than we imagine, and that each of us has the capacity to live fuller, wiser, richer lives.

You may understand why you feel the way you do and still find yourself caught in patterns of anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, shame, or emotional overwhelm. I work with individuals who want to understand what is happening beneath their symptoms, especially when past experiences, family dynamics, or religious experiences continue to shape the present. Many of my clients are thoughtful and self-aware but find that insight alone has not created the change they want.

Trust is an essential and, perhaps, the most important ingredient in all relationships. You can trust me to bring professionalism, expertise, and experience to our therapeutic relationship. I am compassionate, understanding, smart and insightful. I have been working as a psychotherapist for over thirty years and am honored to do this work. In my opinion, change comes from gaining insight into and understanding about oneself. My treatment orientation is psychodynamic but I incorporate other treatment modalities as well, such as cognitive and behavioral therapies.
