I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and PTSD using a relational lens. My therapist vibe is "professional friend" and while we will explore heavy, painful topics, therapy is not going to be a huge bummer the whole time. We will joke, we will riff, we will come up for air. No matter what you're going through, or have faced in the past, I sincerely believe that healing is possible and would be honored to support you on that journey.

In my clinical work, I help individuals, couples, and families, develop a more complete and compassionate understanding of themselves. If you're experiencing anxiety, depression, or another kind of emotional distress—particularly symptoms like intrusive thoughts, panic attacks, signs of OCD, or the lingering effects of past trauma or abuse—it is possible to find relief through therapy. I'd like to help you start to make sense of things.

You may have a strong understanding of yourself: your patterns, your history, the reasons behind how you feel. And still, something doesn’t shift. I work with thoughtful, self-aware adults who feel stuck in this space, often navigating anxiety, trauma, or intrusive thoughts. In therapy, we talk through what’s been coming up, while also gently paying attention to how it’s happening in real time. This may include noticing emotional responses, patterns, or physical sensations - allowing space for something new to emerge. This approach can be especially helpful if insight or traditional talk alone hasn’t led to lasting changes.

At Green Fig Therapy + Coaching, I work with people who feel deeply, think intensely, and are tired of feeling stuck in the same emotional or relational patterns. You may look like you’re holding it together on the outside while internally feeling overwhelmed, reactive, disconnected, or unsure of yourself. Therapy can help you understand where these patterns come from, and a place to build skills to respond differently.

Inner peace is hard to achieve. Stress, trauma, impulses, compulsions, anger, anxiety, grief, and much more, can stand in the way of reaching it. It could be the reason you get a full nights sleep, but wake up exhausted. It could be why a full days work is no problem, but when you have a moment to yourself, you can't unwind. Together, we'll learn what's under the surface and show you how to find the true person that you know you really are.

Hoarding Therapists
What is the most effective treatment for hoarding?
Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) has been well-studied in the treatment of hoarding. This type of therapy includes changing beliefs surrounding possessions, as well as learning how to discard items and reduce acquisitions. The hoarder may also gain much-needed organizational skills. Another useful therapy may be compassion-focused therapy, which can address emotion regulation and negative self-perception.

How long does therapy for hoarding take?
Although treatment can vary, most people demonstrate improvement after 23 sessions, with some showing improvement after just a few sessions. Researchers have developed a 26-session cognitive behavioral program. People who hoard may need “maintenance” sessions over the years if the problem arises repeatedly.

Are there medications for hoarding?
The more commonly-prescribed medications for hoarding are including antidepressants, including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). This can include drugs such as venlafaxine and paroxetine. And because hoarding disorder is related to obsessive-compulsive disorder, medications for OCD, such as clomipramine, may be effective for hoarding as well.

Can hoarding come back after treatment?
Hoarding is a chronic disorder and it can last throughout an individual’s lifetime. Regularly checking in with a psychotherapist can help manage symptoms long-term. A good therapist will help the person learn needed skills including decision-making, organization, and stress reduction. The patient will gain a better perspective and the need to cling to useless items will lessen.
