Grief Therapists in Philadelphia, PA
I work primarily with adults facing challenges related to depression, anxiety, grief, illness, and relationships. While I’ve supported clients across all age groups, my focus is on helping adults navigate life’s difficulties with a practical, strength-based, and solution-focused approach. I emphasize the here and now, exploring how past experiences, habits, and patterns of thinking may hold us back. I view therapy as a partnership, working together to build skills and achieve meaningful goals.

I have over 10 years of experience supporting adolescents and adults in reaching their therapeutic goals with self-esteem, grief, relationship problems, anxiety, depression, and more.
I personally know what it means to provide a safe space, healing, and comfort for everyone else except yourself. I personally know what it means to put everyone else’s needs before your own, and to keep going even when you have nothing left to give. I personally know the importance of carrying labels such as the “strong black woman,” and that can be debilitating. But what if I told you that the space that you create for others, is a space you can create for yourself? What if I told you that putting yourself first, doesn’t make you selfish? Together, we can create a space that is all yours. It will be safe, warm, and secure.

:) I’m Ryli and I work with individuals and couples utilizing an eclectic blend of therapeutic models including psychodynamic, cognitive, existential, attachment-based, grief, and trauma-informed therapies.
Authentic connection and building a solid therapeutic foundation is essential to the growth process, so it will be important in our work for individuals and/or couples to be prepared, committed to, and ready for change. I understand how scary that can be, and I’m here for you.

I work with teens, young adults, and middle-adult women who may feel overwhelmed by anxiety, relationship stress, parenting challenges, or the constant balancing act of everyday life. Many of the people I support are navigating big transitions, starting careers, managing family responsibilities, redefining relationships, or figuring out who they are in this next phase of life. If you often find yourself overthinking, feeling emotionally drained, or wondering how everyone else seems to “have it together,” you are definitely not alone and you don’t have to sort it out by yourself.

I commonly work with people who experience depression, grief and loss, trauma, low self-worth, substance use challenges and the emotional weight of burnout or existential distress.
I incorporate CBT, ACT, EFT, SFT and explore meaning through narrative and psychodynamic approaches. While I'm primarily a talk therapist, I also draw from mindfulness and somatic approaches to help strengthen body awareness and grounding tools. Clients in the past have also expressed appreciation for our use of humor when discussing absurdities in life.

During my post-doctorate fellowship year at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, we had a serious and destructive earthquake. Medical staff and trainees throughout the hospital went into action with clothes and food for the stricken families. We helped with the all of the immediate needs that the crisis created for each person.

I have particular interest and experience in supporting members of marginalized communities; interracial and queer relationships; folks with histories of trauma or loss; as well as those working towards collective liberation as educators, healers, artists, and activists.
My work is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and connection. I come to clinical social work with a deeply held belief that all people are deserving of care and I have seen how a safe and collaborative therapeutic relationship can offer support when care has been challenged. I know that part of healing means acknowledging and working beyond the systems that have caused harm and that this involves actively employing an anti-oppressive lens that refuses to pathologize trauma survival. I understand my clients are the experts on their experiences and I am committed to creating a practice that affirms people of all backgrounds.

EMDR certified, National Certified Counselor, Certified Grief Counseling Specialist, Psychedelic Assisted Therapy certification (Ketamine Assisted Therapy)
Some experiences cannot be put into words and yet their impact lasts a lifetime. Tendrils of that impact are apparent in most aspects of our lives. I specialize in working with such experiences: whether you call it trauma, something else, or nothing at all. I can help you work with the gray areas of life: the parts of identity, belonging, and pain that are complicated and often without words. And I do this from a culturally-affirming stance. My culture influences my perspective and responses in life, so, I hold others' cultural identities as central to their therapy.
