There are clients, who's religious trauma or bombardment of specific roles assigned by family, has left them feeling lost. This lack of identity, increases comparing self to others more than appreciating one’s own talents. Negative self-talk impacts one’s ability to truly believe in themselves, so having the opportunity to process, the origination of false narratives is key. Learning self-compassion allows old behaviors to be sympathized with, instead of scolded so as to rewrite new narratives. As client advocate, I will use the therapeutic space to provide the patience needed, to unpack past hurt, and explore future possibilities.

Sometimes we do everything right and still end up feeling anxious, depressed, or dissatisfied in our day-to-day lives. This can leave us wondering: What am I doing wrong? What’s missing? Therapy creates a space to better understand ourselves and the way our past impacts our present. In sessions, we will uncover emotional and relational patterns that contribute to an overall feeling of dissatisfaction in life. This will provide us with the roadmap to help you build a life that feels full, joyful, and meaningful to you.

Many of my clients are women who have experienced sexual trauma and are now seeking empowerment and deeper emotional fulfillment. You are intelligent, driven, and successful in your career, but you may feel that external achievements no longer provide the balance or personal satisfaction you're craving. Perhaps you struggle with setting boundaries or expressing your needs, or you feel emotionally disconnected from those closest to you—whether it's family, friends, or a partner.

I am currently building a thriving practice of couples and families that are seeking relief and understanding. The work I am doing is centered around finding belonging and safety in the spaces and relationships we occupy. The couples I work with are navigating life transitions, evaluating the state of and investment in their relationship, or are considering moving toward mutual separation and transition to a co-parenting relationship. With families my work has involved improving communication within families separated by physical distance, generational healing, and increasing connection following loss.

I think of therapy as a space where we can explore not only what is difficult or distressing, but also what is joyful, connective, warm, and creative. I believe that noticing what goes unspoken is just as important as recognizing the patterns in your life, and that not-knowing goes hand-in-hand with curiosity. While I work with clients of all identities and areas of concern, I have a specific background in working with people under the LGBTQ+ umbrella, people exploring their relationships to their bodies, people who are neurodivergent and/or disabled, and people with complex, intergenerational, and/or cultural trauma histories.

Everyone starts their healing journey at a different point and for different reasons. Many people seek therapy because they are struggling with past or current situations in their life, or because they want to make a change. Others may be looking to learn more about themselves. Regardless of why you are starting therapy or where you are in your healing journey, I am honored and excited to work and grow with you. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where you will feel not only accepted, but celebrated.

Sometimes we come to therapy because we are experiencing something specific and other times something just feels off. Any time is a good time (I know I have to say that, but I really believe it). I also believe that our experiences occur within the impact of systems (relationships, work, family, communities, school, society etc.). The more we uncover our understanding of how these systems interact, the better we understand our world and ourselves. This helps us disrupt patterns and deepen groundedness and joy. Clients tell me that our work together helps them see themselves more fully and therefore see others more fully.

The only constant in life is change. However, change can often be challenging and painful, leaving us feeling stuck in old patterns. I believe that every individual is capable of change, given the right tools and support. Utilizing a client-centered, humanistic, and trauma-informed approach, I provide the safe, supportive space that my clients need in order to achieve the growth and change that they seek. Having worked most recently with members of the LGBTQ community, I understand how important it is to have the acceptance and support of someone in a non-judgmental space in order to grow.
