You know your child is trying. You see it when they melt down over the wrong socks after holding it together all day at school. When they ask the same question fifteen times because their brain can't settle. When homework that should take twenty minutes turns into a two-hour battle. When they seem fine everywhere else but fall apart the moment they get home. You've tried the charts, consequences, rewards, and coping skills. Some helped a little. Some made things worse. Mostly, you're exhausted and wondering how to help.

In addition to my work with men, I also provide EMDR therapy to people of all genders.
I help men who are ready to break cycles and build healthier relationships with themselves and others. Therapy is a place where you can set down the pressure to “man up,” “perform,” or “get it right,” and instead focus on your own growth. Whether you’re struggling with relationships, communication, or past experiences that still weigh on you, therapy can support you in creating lasting change.

Maybe you are grieving, carrying trauma, struggling with self-worth, or feeling stuck in patterns you cannot seem to break. Therapy can be a space where you do not have to perform, explain everything perfectly, or carry it all alone.

Using EMDR, somatic resources, parts work, and other skills - my role is to help you rediscover yourself.
Trauma. We all experience it at some point in our lives. It’s that thing that keeps you up at night. The thing that you distract yourself from by working extra hours, scrolling endlessly on Tik-Tok, self-harm, addiction, codependency. We run, fight, freeze, fawn, shut-down. Our bodies are built to adapt to the stress in our lives but what happens when the stress is too much? When we run into obstacles like bullying, abuse, illness, separation, loss, disasters? What happens when there is no one to witness our pain? We forget about the parts of ourselves that are creative, brave, intuitive, funny, smart, kind, gentle, strong.

I blend modalities such as IFS, EMDR, and emotion-focused approaches, and my practice is always informed by grief and loss, even if a client’s feelings are not associated with a death.
I hold precious the opportunity to practice humility as I walk alongside clients who are willing to generously share their stories, and I will never pretend to know more about a client’s experiences than them, as I believe they are the true experts. My lens is informed by intersectionality, harm reduction, and human connection.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
