I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and AASECT-certified sex therapist- I specialize in supporting individuals and relationships with sexual concerns, including sexual dysfunction, trauma, difficulties with emotional and physical closeness and communication. My work extends beyond sex therapy to include support for anxiety, depression, and self-exploration. Sexuality is deeply connected to other parts of who you are, and together we’ll also explore those dimensions– supporting the development of a more positive, integrated sense of self.

I treat clients with a "team" approach. Together, we help you to feel happier, reduce your suffering, understand patterns that get you "stuck" in life and help with making life feel more balanced. I believe that with mindfulness, learning how to be more kind to yourself, and being open to new perspectives, you have the power to change anything within you in your present day life, including unwholesome habits and increasing self esteem. I have formal training and personal experience in mindfulness meditation and other grounding tools to help with reducing anxiety and stress and increasing joy and contentment in your life.

My ideal client is someone who identifies as a woman or LGBTQIA+ individual who feels overwhelmed by emotions, identity shifts, or relationships. They may struggle to express feelings, feel disconnected from their body, or carry anxiety, depression, or past wounds. They seek a safe, affirming space to be seen and understood. Their goals are to make sense of their emotions, feel grounded, and express themselves more authentically. Through art, mindfulness, and compassionate therapy, they want to reconnect with who they are and build a life that feels true to them.

Life can be overwhelming, but seeking help shouldn't be. Mental health and substance use challenges can affect anyone, and there’s no shame in asking for support when life gets tough. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can process your emotions and experiences and work toward being a better version of yourself.

Clients who will benefit more from working with me are complex, sensitive persons and couples going through some kind of life transition, or some relational or existential crisis, who want to understand themselves better, integrate the many sides of their identity, "own" their experiences, and reflect about their life course and ways of being and relating. Also persons willing to heal from trauma, to build resiliency and unleash post-traumatic growth. I have lived in Europe, Africa and USA, and have developed an expertise in immigration, acculturation, and international and transnational identities and experiences.

The desire to be known is so very human. Working together, we can make sense of your internal experience as it relates to - and makes contact with - the external world. In psychotherapy, the relationship is unique, collaborative and alive. I have also found that the best outcomes in therapy come from a safe, consistent space with a rhythm of regular sessions. Feelings can be hard to access in everyday life. Settling into/committing to therapy lets people experience their feelings and understand their deepest motivations to bring psychic change to lifelong patterns. Humor, when appropriate, can expand our perspective.

"It is the client who knows what hurts, what directions to go, what problems are crucial, what experiences have been deeply buried." (Carl Rogers, 1961) I view therapy as a journey that is led by clients and work toward guiding others through the therapeutic journey by providing a supportive environment. Therapy is tailored to people's styles, growth edges, and strengths. A collaborative relationship between a therapist and client is essential to working toward self-growth and wellness. I value the use of research informed techniques. I join clients on their therapeutic journey with the ultimate goal of wellness.

Hello and welcome! I am licensed to provide services in PA, MA,NJ, & OH. My area of expertise is working with adults as they navigate grief and loss experiences. I specialize in supporting individuals after sudden/unexpected death including SUD related death or loss of a child of any age. A loss does not require death. Living losses may encompass a major life transition that involves a shift in identity like new parenthood, a career change, or the end of a significant relationship. Grief is not linear and there is no right or wrong way to grieve; however, it is helpful to have guidance to validate and normalize your experiences.

I work with individuals and couples who want to explore the origins of their distress and then work toward meaningful change. My specialties include navigating relational issues, the effects of trauma, sexuality/identity exploration, and anxiety & mood difficulties. I also work with children and adolescents, incorporating interventions from play and art therapy. Humans are built for connection, and when that connection is safe and supportive, we can begin to tend to the most vulnerable parts of our stories. I believe that - together - we have the ability to move through and forward from what has hurt us.

I am a psychotherapist and Jungian psychoanalyst in private practice for over 40 years. I work with adults who are struggling with any of the following issues; difficult life transitions, depression, anxiety, addictions, trauma and or losses. As a Jungian psychoanalyst, my orientation is to view psychological problems as an opportunity to further one's self knowledge, to master obstacles, to grow and to heal wounds. My approach includes dream work as connection to unconscious material is central to Jung’s concept of “individuation”, becoming more authentically yourself. I value deeply the therapeutic relationship.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
