Hi, I’m Danny — therapy with me is compassionate, collaborative, and sometimes even full of laughter. As a solution-focused therapist, I believe that healing doesn’t always have to feel heavy. While we’ll honor the pain and complexity of what you're going through, we’ll also look for what’s possible. I bring warmth, humor, and real talk into the room, helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s messier moments with clarity and connection.

I have 20 years of experience counseling teens and adults in the Lehigh Valley.
You have been over-functioning for years and your tried and true strategies for managing life stressors are no longer serving you. You may experience intense emotions coupled with periods of feeling numb and it's taking a toll on you and your loved ones. This may show up as burnout, overwhelm, insomnia, anxiety, obsessions, perfectionism, mood dysfunction, outbursts or poor energy. Together, our work will focus on exploring root causes of these issues, rather than just surface symptoms. Through self-exploration, healing of harmful life events, and skill building, meaningful change and self-restoration will occur.

I have been treating adults and teens with eating disorders, anxiety, addictions and mood disorders for over 15 years.
I primarily practice CBT and ACT but I believe the client/therapist relationship is the primary agent of healing. I also often find it helpful to draw from other techniques like DBT, Mindfulness and Buddhist Psychology.

I have worked with adolescents and adults for many years to to gain control of their lives.
Life these days can feel like you are on a roller coaster that doesn’t stop. This can lead to having very intense emotions, ones that feel overwhelming, scary, hopeless. Maybe you are feeling extreme loneliness? Feeling so stressed that it’s hard to focus, or you just don’t feel like doing much of anything lately. Intense negative feelings can affect your relationships, sleep, and job or school performance. For some, anxiety or sadness can lead to outbursts of anger or feelings of worthlessness inside. It is important to learn about yourself, what is causing these feelings, and to know that there are solutions.

Teen Therapists

What does therapy for teenagers look like?

When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?

There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?

You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
