My goal is to help clients grow and develop tools to move through the challenges they encounter. I work to create a safe place for clients to learn alternative ways to manage the stressors and conflicts in life that lead to anxiety, depression, PTSD, helplessness and hopelessness. I have been greatly honored to journey with individuals, couples and families as they navigate the challenges they face, make sense of their lives and feel better. I am continually amazed by the human spirit and each person’s ability to overcome adversity, even horrendous trauma.

Are you feeling depressed? Unmotivated? Struggling with rumination and compulsive behaviors? Experiencing low self-esteem? It can be hard to address your core issues but I believe taking the first step and making your therapy appointment can ultimately be the change your life needs.

You might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or quietly wondering why life feels harder than it “should.” Maybe you’re dealing with anxiety or depression, relationship challenges, identity questions, or a major life transition that’s left you feeling unsteady. You may not have the perfect words for what’s wrong—you just know something feels off. Often, people I work with want relief, clarity, and a deeper sense of connection to themselves or others, and a space where they can be honest without being judged. (And no, you don’t have to cry on the first session—unless you want to.)

Overwhelming worry and stress seem to follow you everywhere. You struggle to maintain focus, make decisions, and let go of things. Constant overthinking depletes your energy, leaving you irritable, restless, and on edge. The more this persists, the more dejected and hopeless you feel about it ever changing. You have tried coping on your own, but solutions that used to work no longer seem to help. You dream of a happier life – free from worry, present in the moment, and optimistic about the future – and wonder if it is possible. I know what these struggles are like, and I can help you restore hope in yourself.

My passion is working with young people and their families concerned about the impact of substance use in their lives. I understand that many people have been harmed by one-size-fit-all treatment approaches, so self-empowerment is my focus and my approach is person- and family-centric. There are many paths to wellness. This means that you are in charge of your treatment goals. I understand that any change is difficult so I'll meet you where you're at in the change process to empower you to take the next steps.

You may be someone who appears to be holding things together on the outside, but internally feels anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck. Maybe your mind doesn’t shut off, stress is showing up in your body, or you’re noticing patterns in your relationships that you don’t fully understand. You might be going through a life transition, dealing with burnout, or struggling with confidence or self-doubt. The people I work with are simply trying to feel more at ease, more connected, and more like themselves again.

Does this sound familiar? You start talking about something small, like weekend plans or a chore, and somehow it spirals into that same old fight. Before you know it, you're both frustrated, nobody feels heard, and you're wondering how you got here... again. That distance between you keeps growing, and despite loving each other, you can't seem to break the cycle. Whether you're a couple preparing for marriage, navigating midlife challenges, or entering retirement, or an individual seeking clarity during life transitions, you want to move beyond feeling stuck. You're looking for practical tools to create meaningful change.

Hey there. If you're reading this you may be wondering "is this guy the right therapist for me?" That is a question I hold dearly. Browsing this website can bring a flurry of emotions when seeking a therapist. It can be tough to find the right fit, and also can be a challenge just to get started. I hope, as you read my profile, there is a chance you may think I can play a role in your mental health journey. The people who tend to seek me for help tend to those seeking trauma work, and also people who are "stuck".

Therapy is a process that promotes exploration and self-discovery. We all live with internal challenges that may have been caused by external stressors. Sometimes in life, we need to really set aside time to slow down, take a look at ourselves, and attempt to answer the question “Who are you?” Many of us define our lives by our occupation yet the answer to this question goes much deeper. Who we are as individuals can dictate how we deal with stress, how we make decisions, and even how we take care of ourselves. I look forward to connecting with you on your therapeutic journey.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?
There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.

How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?
Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?
Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.

Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?
Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
