Sessions are a mix of virtual and in person, depending on the clients needs!
Welcome, welcome, WELCOME! All my life I have believed that a person needs to be the change they want to see in the world. Thus my practice is one where people are free to learn, to grow, to express themselves freely and without judgement about whatever ails them. This could be daily life struggles of riding public transportation, or more philosophical questions about the meaning of life, and everything in between. All it takes to start is the willingness to have a conversation. I take a trauma focused, client first approach which makes getting that conversation started even easier!

You’ve done the work. Therapy isn’t new to you—you’ve been there, talked through it, gained awareness. You get why you are the way you are, but despite all of that, you still feel stuck. Like no matter how much you understand your past, something deeper is keeping you in survival mode. Maybe you had to grow up fast. Maybe life didn’t give you much room to just be a kid. You’re great at figuring things out, staying strong, analyzing your feelings—but sometimes, it feels like you’re thinking your way around healing instead of actually feeling it. That’s where I come in.

I can see clients in person in downtown Pittsburgh or via telehealth!
I take a warm and collaborative approach to therapy. I believe that healing and growth happen through feeling understood, supported, and genuinely connected in the therapeutic relationship. My style is non-directive and deeply attentive to each client’s unique experience, allowing space to explore thoughts, emotions, relationships, and patterns at a pace that feels comfortable. Together, we look at how past experiences and relationships may still be shaping present-day struggles, emotions, and ways of relating to others. I help clients slow down and build awareness of their emotional and physical responses.

I'm currently accepting new patients in person and virtually on Mondays and Fridays.
Do you feel stuck? Struggling to focus? Overwhelmed by the weight of the mental load? Are you tired of people pleasing? Constantly feeling scattered or dysregulated? Frustrated or angry from being dismissed? Do you feel like there HAS to be more to life than constant stress, worry or panic? Have you lost your way to hope? If you’re looking to reparent yourself and break free from generational cycles, optimize your focus and functioning, lessen your mental load, regulate your nervous system, take back control from your anxiety or depression and finally process the pain from unresolved grief/trauma…You’ve come to the right place.

At some point along the journey, our stories demand to be told. Whether through painful emotional and physical symptoms, relationship struggles, or other interruptive experiences, our lives catch up to us. Therapy is a place where, together, we can pay close attention to your story and the person you are becoming. My counseling approach is rooted in relational psychodynamic therapy, which focuses on themes from early childhood and how they show up in your life today. I respect the vulnerability and bravery required to step into this work, and aim to meet you with humility and an awareness of my own intersecting identities.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
