Welcome, welcome, WELCOME! All my life I have believed that a person needs to be the change they want to see in the world. Thus my practice is one where people are free to learn, to grow, to express themselves freely and without judgement about whatever ails them. This could be daily life struggles of riding public transportation, or more philosophical questions about the meaning of life, and everything in between. All it takes to start is the willingness to have a conversation. I take a trauma focused, client first approach which makes getting that conversation started even easier!

My ideal client is someone navigating a period of transition, grief, or uncertainty—whether that’s due to a reproductive decision, a loss, a relationship shift, or a change in how they see themselves. Many of my clients are LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, or holding stories shaped by trauma. They often feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. What they want most is to feel seen, grounded, and more in control of their own lives. They’re looking for support that’s affirming, compassionate, and helps them understand themselves more deeply.

Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, OCD, intrusive thoughts, or burnout, especially high-achieving teens and adults who appear “fine” on the outside.
In our work together, we’ll identify the patterns driving your stress and learn how to quiet the mental noise. I use evidence-based approaches like CBT and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help you break anxiety cycles, reduce compulsive patterns, and build lasting confidence.

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in survival mode. On the outside, they appear capable and accomplished. On the inside, they are carrying trauma, grief, identity stress, and the invisible weight of being “the strong one.”
I specialize in working with Black women and other high-functioning helpers who are navigating trauma, life transitions, cultural stress, and complex family dynamics. Many are professionals, caretakers, or first-generation achievers who look successful on the outside but feel unseen, pressured, or stretched thin inside.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.
How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.
How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.
How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
