I became a counselor because I believe in the power of the individual and their desire for change. I enjoy being a catalyst to help others live their best life. I have specialized in treating substance abuse/addiction, trauma, and behavioral challenges that can occur with diagnoses such as ADHD, ODD, and Conduct Disorder. I also treat individuals with a range of diagnoses from mood disorders, psychotics disorders, and personality disorders. My experience in acute care settings has helped me learn to manage crises, view change in different ways, and support individuals going through extraordinary difficulties.

A sense of wellbeing is the outcome of psychotherapy. This is a journey that we take together. There is no magic way to reach wellbeing. Your wellbeing will be reached through the act of self reflection , establishing appropriate interpersonal boundaries, exploring and resolving grief from loss, increasing effective communication skills, learning problem resolution tools, creating realistic expectations of one's self and others, creating self preservation activities and resolving prior hurts that negatively affect your present life. All of these therapeutic gains are within the reach of the client in my psychotherapy office.

I help folks who are navigating addiction, trauma, and nervous system dysregulation—often showing up as chronic unease, panic attacks, burnout, or physical symptoms tied to stress and emotional overwhelm. Many of the folks I work with have felt over-pathologized in other settings; my goal is to normalize stress responses shaped by lived experience, not label them as personal failures. Our work focuses on restoring safety, understanding patterns, and building a steadier relationship with your body and yourself.

Everyone has a lens through which we view the world created by our unique experiences, struggles, triumphs, and diverse cultural languages, but so often we feel as if we lack the voice to express our true selves and needs to others. We struggle to find the courage to live authentically in a world that often doesn’t understand or validate our humanity, empathy, and sense of self. As we find self-empowerment, we can come together to empower our families, communities, and ultimately our world as a united whole to meet the challenges we face as human beings. Therapy can help overcome past trauma to help us live fully in the present.

I give clients the opportunity to explore inner struggles while I provide guidance and support. We work jointly to find solutions to life's dilemmas and to explore alternative paths. There is no one approach to therapy. I find that if I talk too much, then the client is not getting enough from the encounter. I have worked effectively with men and see males as terrific clients.
