If you would like to explore "bottom-up" approaches such as EMDR, Brainspotting, Mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems (IFS)/Parts Work to decrease the intensity of your current symptoms and to establish that re-connection to Self, I look forward to our work together.
Therapy is about establishing re-connection. Re-connection to others (friends, family, partners, etc) of course, but primarily re-connection to Self...our feelings, our thoughts, our beliefs, and a sense of safety in our bodies. If you struggle with depression, anxiety, dissociation, substance abuse, self-harming, or other self-sabotaging behaviors you just may be trying your best to survive intolerable circumstances as you move through this world. Without a safe connection to Self, relationships to others are inevitably disrupted.

Hello! My name is Gregg and I help people through some of the tough times in their lives. I believe that we adjust to new experiences using the tools we already possess and a desire to thrive in new surroundings, but sometimes this striving to survive can cause us emotional and behavioral difficulties. I provide supportive guidance through these situations using tools from cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative, and existential therapies, from the psychodynamic approach.

I take a holistic and trauma-informed approach to therapy, blending evidence-based techniques such as EMDR and Brainspotting with somatic and mindfulness practices. I believe true healing happens when we address the mind, body, and nervous system together, so I often integrate tools for regulation, grounding, and self-compassion.

A calm physical state of safety is established first with therapy like brainspotting and somatic experiential leaning
I welcome you to my practice where I specialize in facilitating multicultural counseling and trauma-informed mind-body psychotherapy treatment interventions to stop/rewire painful sensory surfacing in the body and trauma memory symptoms that most neurodivergent clients (Autism & ADHD) suffer. However, I work with Neurotypical clients who also suffer from PTSD, grief, anxiety, DID, developmental trauma.....etc. I am neurodivergent myself, so I have personal experience in how the neurodivergent brain differs from my neurotypical clients'. Meaning; I tweaked the psycho-ed/tips to be understood and applied more easily for us Neurodi.

If you’re struggling with alcohol or substance use, trauma, or the weight of complicated relationships, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Maybe you feel stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand—repeating unhealthy dynamics, pushing people away, or struggling with trust. You might be questioning recovery, working a program, attending a support group, or figuring it out on your own. Wherever you are in the process, this is a space to be real, break old patterns, and build something better.

Brainspotting and somatic therapy with me can help.
You've been told that you're "too much" or overly sensitive. You've been told this a lot actually. And every time you hear it, the cut digs a little deeper. After awhile, you start to think maybe they're right. Why else would you feel so chronically overwhelmed? Why else would you come home in tears “for no reason.” You wonder, “What’s wrong with me? Why am I like this?” If you relate, you may be a highly sensitive person. Many highly sensitive people are neurodivergent in some way, and there are reasons for why you're sensitive. It isn't because you're being difficult and there’s nothing wrong with you. You’re just misunderstood.

I know that deciding to call a therapist and reach out for support with life's challenges requires courage and a leap of faith in your self. Your desire to end your suffering is where this healing journey begins. Your call or email is that first step. If you are reading this, the time is now. I understand the human condition, the trepidation about going to therapy and the place you are in life right now. I am here for you. Know that aside from over three decades of professional training as a clinician, I have also been a client for my own personal growth and healing.

The beauty of life can be hidden by the demands of time and resources. Thoughts of helplessness, frustration, and worry can be difficult to navigate. Constantly thinking about events or feelings that have had major impacts on our lives can prevent us from reaching our goals in life. To me reaching out for help to work through personal difficulties is one of the most important steps a person can take to begin to implement changes. I believe in the authenticity of the therapeutic relationship and how it is a source of strength for change.

Brainspotting Therapists
How does brainspotting work?
Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?
Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?
Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?
A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
