In addition to my generalized knowledge of psychology, my human sexuality education has trained me to treat sexual dysfunctions and given me an in-depth understanding of matters around sexual orientation and gender.
At this unprecedented moment, you may be feeling intense anxiety and are unsure where to turn. I will give you connection, warmth, humor, and insight as I help you navigate this period in your life. The key to any successful treatment is a safe, trusting, compassionate relationship between the therapist and client- this is our first goal. Often our most intimate relationships play out problems that we encounter again and again. Together we will examine connections between your past and present, and ways in which current behaviors can be modified in order to have more successful and fulfilling relationships- our long term goal.

I am a psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of complex trauma and PTSD. I believe in creating a relatable and safe space to work through the toughest parts of our past. While some trauma is overt, such as PTSD, other traumas can be hidden behind depression or anxiety. Emotional traumas can even arise from being raised by parents or guardians with personality disorders. I have over 10 years of experience using EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic interventions to address various forms of trauma.

I work best with clients who are seeking deep transformation. In my experience, true healing begins when we tend to our core wounds and gently clear the blocks that prevent us from living in alignment with our deeper truth and inner integrity. My approach is rooted in the belief that to fully return to ourselves, we must release the imprints of trauma—personal, ancestral, and collective—as well as the layers of social conditioning that disconnect us from who we are. I pay close attention to the relational field, and the ways relational trauma and disconnection shape our sense of self.

Many of us long for deeper connection—with ourselves, with others, and within the broader communities and worlds we inhabit. Therapy can be a space to explore what constrains us, and to forge new pathways toward closeness and belonging. My style is warm, thoughtful, and collaborative. Together we'll notice patterns that limit your sense of safety and trust, so that you can live a life of more intimacy, freedom, and joy.

I’m passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ clients, and I practice from a culturally affirming, relationship-affirming (including CNM), kink-allied, and sex-worker allied lens.
Therapy isn’t about racing to a finish line, it’s about the journey we take together. In our work, we’ll explore the parts of your identity that feel most meaningful, look at how your relationships shape your world, and create space for the challenges you’re navigating right now. You are the expert on your own life, and I’ll trust your inner wisdom every step of the way! You don’t need to know where to start. As the saying goes: “Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can.”

I am licensed as a clinical social worker and a marriage and family therapist, and I am also an AASECT-certified sex therapist.
I concentrate on helping patients explore and enrich emotional and sexual intimacy, improve their communication skills, and address conflicts in relationships. I am equally comfortable navigating current concerns and challenges, while also working 'below the surface' to explore factors that influence the capacity to feel more authentic and valued.

My specialization in human sexuality enables me to help others navigate the intimate aspects of themselves and their relationships, as well as any trauma that's been experienced in this realm.
Hi there I’m happy you’re here! My passion in psychotherapy lies in helping people connect better with themselves, each other, and higher purpose/power. Lack of connection might appear as symptoms of anxiety, depression, isolation, sexual dissatisfaction, relationship friction, or loss of meaning. Often times, nervous system shut down prevents meaningful connection in life and/or meaningful movement in therapy. As a relational therapist, I work with you to build on your natural self awareness and insight to explore your patterns and reframe or rescript them.

As a trauma and sex therapist, I am interested in helping clients reconnect to themselves.
I aim to co-create therapeutic relationships in which I am an active facilitator and collaborator. I am conscious of how systemic oppression impacts my life and my clients’ lives; because of this, I believe that spaces to experiment and challenge oneself are more important than ever.

I work with clients who may be struggling with various sexual and relationship issues including sexual dysfunctions, communication, the many forms of ethical non-monogamy, desire discrepancy, navigating kink and BDSM, and sex work.
Hello! My name is Sid (they/them), I am a queer, nonbinary therapist at the Center for Growth in Providence, Rhode Island. I provide in-person (in RI) and virtual therapy (in PA, NJ, and RI) to individuals, groups, couples, and other relationship formations. I also run a virtual bi-weekly non-binary support group on Thursday evenings. I view my therapeutic practice as an ongoing collaboration with my clients. Working together, we will explore clients' relevant histories, examine values, set goals for treatment, and tailor any therapeutic interventions to the needs of the client instead of using a “one-size-fits-all” approach.

Sex Therapy Therapists
Who is sex therapy for?
Sex problems are common in relationships. Many people want a better sex life and want to feel loved and desired by their partner. It is difficult for couples to resolve sexual problems on their own because people often feel ashamed to talk about their sexual desires fearing they are not normal, when in fact a very broad range of preferences and behaviors are normal. A sex therapist can help clarify this and other matters.

Why do people need sex therapy?
Many people do not know how to talk about their erotic needs or their emotional needs, both of which are addressed in sex therapy. Couples often live with sexual difficulties for years before seeking help, and in that time, partners may experience so much disappointment and alienation that they may fear their problems mean they are incompatible. Once people experience disappointment, it is difficult to find resolution without help.

What happens in sex therapy?
People have many misconceptions about what takes place in sex therapy. First, it is a form of talk therapy in which partners discuss their sexual concerns; it does not involve touching or physical exploration of any kind. Sex therapy typically helps couples get comfortable talking to each other about sex so that, in the privacy of their home life, they can openly discuss their sexual desires and make decisions about what they want to do. Couples are typically assigned activities to do at home that build intimacy skills.

What kinds of problems do sex therapists treat?
Very often, partners differ in their degree of sexual desire and struggle over how often to have sex. Or they may have fights about porn use or have difficulty connecting sexually after one partner is unfaithful. Men may have problems with premature ejaculation. Women may find themselves struggling to become aroused or to achieve an orgasm. Sometimes partners feel like they have lost the sense of attraction to their partner. These are all common issues dealt with in sex therapy.
