I see myself as a life consultant and partner in change. Clients working with me are tired of feeling stuck in behaviors or emotional ruts that don't afford them freedom to live well. Trying new things, taking risks and experimenting with new ways of thinking, feeling and behaving are all part of the coaching. The client who sees me is ready, willing and, even if a bit scared, ready to find a centered self. I work both through talk and experiential, intersectional models. I am proficient in helping folks with grief, anxiety, body image issues and most life transitions. Life is hard and support and challenge can make it easier.

For all the conveniences and genuine marvels of the modern world, rates of stress, disease and mental illness continue to escalate, particularly in the wake of the collective trauma of Covid-19. Children, teens, and young adults have been especially hard hit. I work with individuals of all ages in diminishing feelings of alienation, fear, and hyper-reactivity and cultivating a sense of inner ease and well-being. Using play, talk and family therapy, we work together to understand the unmet needs underlying symptoms and figure out ways to address these needs via channeling the natural human instincts for growth and discovery.

I offer sessions in person, or via video when distance or travel is a factor.
The secret to a satisfying life is found in the experience of loving relationships and gratifying work. Sometimes, life's challenges interfere with our relationships and careers, and prevent us from experiencing the joy that life can offer. The challenges that led you to this page - depression, anxiety, addictions, grief and loss, career dissatisfaction - may be affecting your work or relationships. You want to advance in your career, feel more connected to your partner or family, or move beyond the hurts of the past, but something feels like it is always in the way, no matter how hard you've tried.

I work best with clients who are seeking deep transformation. In my experience, true healing begins when we tend to our core wounds and gently clear the blocks that prevent us from living in alignment with our deeper truth and inner integrity. My approach is rooted in the belief that to fully return to ourselves, we must release the imprints of trauma—personal, ancestral, and collective—as well as the layers of social conditioning that disconnect us from who we are. I pay close attention to the relational field, and the ways relational trauma and disconnection shape our sense of self.

Since completing my post doctoral fellowship training at the Judge Baker Guidance Center and Children's Hospital of Boston in 1983, I have provided therapy for children of all ages, for adults, and for families. For children, these regularly treated problems include fears of all kinds, toiling issues, compliance with parental requests and instructions, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and selective mutism. I regularly help teens and adults with anxiety, depressed mood, and relationship issues. I use couples and family visits to help with behavioral problems of preschool and elementary school age children, disagreements about parenting, and couples issues.

Much of my success in working with children has come from my ability to effectively establish a strong therapeutic relationship. I give children a safe place in which they can effectively express their feelings. Boundaries are extremely important in this process. My patients know that what they say in my office stays in my office. I work collaterally with families to help address a child's needs, without violating the trust or the boundaries we have established. Much of my work has been with children who have anxiety, depression, ADHD, and learning differences. Many of my patients have a combination of these issues. I

Are you trying to learn more about yourself and how you can best navigate your world? Are you exploring all parts of your identity and what makes you "you"? I have focused primarily on identity-related challenges, including Gender/Sexuality exploration, Race/Ethnic identity concerns, Religious/Cultural trauma, and Sex/Intimacy issues. I also have experience helping clients navigate issues related to depression, anxiety, and ADHD/Neurodivergent disorders. I'm here to be a collaborative and warm therapist who won't throw a therapy book at them but instead wants to be someone who sees them as human beings navigating life.

If you are looking for relief from daily stressors, support during a life transition, are working through a traumatic experience, or even in need of intensive therapy for more difficult emotional and mental health issues, I will work with you in an individualized process to create change and growth in your life. I help adolescents and adults using therapeutic techniques that are tailored to meet each person's specific and unique needs. I work with parents and families seeking to restore equilibrium within the family system, and as a mother of two young children myself, I love working with new and expecting parents.
