Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists in Mount Lebanon, PA
Sometimes life happens in a way that leaves us hurt, questioning, and unsure of what to do next. Connection and relationships are a part of a collaborative process to engage in healing. I practice through connecting our thoughts to our emotions and bodily sensations through EMDR, Ketamine, art, and relational tools. While therapy goals are built on your needs, I will always maintain a focus of deeper self awareness during our time together. I want to create a space of possibilities and connections that recognizes each as an individual and not a one size fits all. I want to help remove the stigma around receiving help.

Sometimes life beats us down, and sometimes we can’t leave our past behind. As we travel though the changes and challenges in our journey on this earth it may be hard to ask for help. Your strengths can be uncovered when you are able to reach out to someone who can understand, and has the experience to guide you along that road. A Bachelors Degree in Human Services from Geneva College, a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University Pittsburgh, holding a Pennsylvania State Board License as a Clinical Social Worker, and my certification in Trauma From Evergreen can help.

Treatment often involves exploring patterns, building emotional awareness, and developing practical tools using ACT, psychodynamic, and mindfulness approaches.
April 2026: accepting new clients. I help thoughtful, overwhelmed adults—especially men and high achievers—navigate anxiety, transitions, and identity questions with honesty, clarity, and zero therapy fluff. You might be dealing with anxiety, stress, burnout, or a major life change that’s stirred up uncertainty. Maybe you’re overthinking, feeling disconnected, or struggling with perfectionism, low self-esteem, or relationship concerns. If you’re new to therapy or skeptical it can help, you’re welcome here. Real change happens when you have honest conversations, practical tools, and space to figure out what actually works for you.

My approach is rooted in attachment theory and shaped by practices like Internal Family Systems (IFS), interpersonal process work, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT).

I offer evidence-based therapy grounded in CBT, ACT, DBT, and CBT-I, tailored to each client’s needs and goals.
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, self-aware, and tired of feeling stuck in the same patterns. They may be dealing with anxiety, low mood, relationship stress, or a general sense of disconnection, even while functioning well on the outside. Often, they’re motivated to change but unsure what will actually help, and want a space to slow things down, make sense of their experience, and move forward in a way that feels grounded and real.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.
What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.
Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.
How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
