Want a therapist that flexes and adapts to your needs, goals, and style? I believe it is my job to learn about and conform to what my clients need, whether it's a more laid-back listening-oriented style or a more directive goal-oriented style. Your counseling process should be completely unique to who you are as a person, couple, or family and you should be encouraged to sit in the driver's seat. I am comfortable using a variety of therapy modalities and love creating tailored therapeutic experiences that "fit just right" for all of my clients. I am also open to discussing holistic options including diet, exercise, and spirituality.

I draw from TF-CBT, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, and emotional coherence therapy to support healing, growth, and lasting change.
Life can get REALLY hard, and we’re all doing our best to get through it. But that doesn’t mean you have to do it alone. I often work with those who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of what comes next. That includes working with anxiety, body image struggles and/or disordered eating, gender and sexuality, relationship challenges, dissociation, complex trauma, or big life transitions. We’ll work on understanding what’s beneath the surface, building coping tools, and helping you feel more grounded and connected to yourself.

I also utilize CBT and I am trained in ERP, IFS and DBT.
In today’s society it is sometimes difficult to manage our mental health. We become anxious and/or depressed and sometimes our relationships suffer. Many of us have survived traumatic experiences that we have not properly processed. It is important to find ways to cope with our anxiety, overcome our depression, process our trauma and learn to communicate in a positive manner in order to build healthy relationships with others as well as with ourself.

I incorporate elements of several therapeutic modalities to provide a collaborative approach to therapy, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and DBT.
My ideal client would be seeking help with anxiety. There are so many challenges that can take place in our lives, and I am passionate about helping navigate the uncertainty with my clients. I have specialized training to work with those adjusting to parenthood, pregnancy, or postpartum. Shifting our focus from taking care of ourselves to now taking care of our child/family, requires a unique balance that I love helping people discover. I incorporate a variety of evidence base treatment in my therapeutic approaches such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral, Internal Family Systems and Ketamine-Assited Therapy.
Maybe you’ve tried telling yourself, “That happened a long time ago,” but your nervous system didn’t get the memo. Maybe drinking or using started as a way to cope and has become its own problem. Or maybe you’re a parent wondering how someone who once told you everything now communicates mainly through shrugs and closed doors. You don’t need a polished explanation before reaching out. I work with trauma, addiction, and adolescents, and I’m trained in EMDR. We’ll make room for the hard stuff, get curious about what’s keeping you stuck, and find ways forward that fit your actual life. And yes, we can be serious about the work without.

When engaging in Trauma Focused treatment I tend to use EMDR, DBT, CPT, CBT, Mindfulness, and Solution Focused.
Trauma tends to be considered a buzz word. If you have experienced a traumatic event. You know that there is nothing trendy about what you experience. There is a want to escape the memory and constant reminders of the past. The need to move forward and progress in life. However, there is lingering guilt of what has occurred and how it has continued to make an impact. Being able to identify your triggers, cope with them, and replace the negative thoughts about the experience tends to be the common goal. To feel that your past is not holding you back.

I practice EMDR, Art Therapy, and EFT Tapping, along with Guided Imagery/Mindfulness, Sand tray, and CBT and DBT skills, in a safe and supportive space.
Feeling overwhelmed, or caught in patterns you can’t seem to change? Trauma, anxiety, grief, and depression can leave you feeling disconnected, on edge, or unlike yourself. For young people, this may appear as school stress, perfectionism, shutting down, or feeling misunderstood, and can leave parents at a loss. For adults, it may look like repeating painful relationship patterns, carrying the weight of the past, or functioning well while struggling inside. I work with school-age children, teens, and adults. Together, we’ll understand what’s driving the struggle and help you feel more grounded, confident, and like yourself again.

I am trained in Energy Psychology (EFT) and DBT.
I believe everyone has inherent value, has purpose, and belongs in this world. A person can be greatly impacted by stress, life changes, trauma, and pain/hurt which can lead people to believe they do not have value or feel no longer worthwhile. People can heal from these things and can learn new skills to better regulate emotions. Sometimes people just need someone to show up and help guide the healing process. We can heal the hurt and find ways to move forward in life. I work to provide a calm, safe, open, non-judgmental space to allow this process to begin.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
