I am currently accepting new clients and have evening openings. I strive to create a non-judgmental atmosphere where clients feel safe to discuss their issues in an open and productive way. My specialty areas are substance use disorders (addictions) and trauma. Guilt and shame are two feelings that are frequently felt by those who struggle with addictive issues, and for those who have experienced trauma. My goal is to help clients and their families understand their issues and work toward a better life.

It can be difficult to navigate finding mental health care, but you’ve made it this far. I view my role as holding a warm space for us to explore what is working and not working for you in your life. Most of us weren’t taught how to experience our emotions mindfully and respond with intention. It makes sense that many of us struggle with responding to our emotions compassionately. I may help you identify, understand, and accept difficult internal experiences while taking meaningful action in your life.

Anxiety is everywhere these days. We're all making our way through a sea of unknowns, and our children are along for the ride. I believe that YOU, a parent or caregiver, have been doing the very best that you can for your child. I also know that with limited resources, a lack of external support or your own mental health strain, supporting a struggling child often feels impossible. If you’ve exhausted a list of ideas to help your child with little progress, let me join you. Together we can redistribute that emotional weight you’re carrying and give your child a big wide space to heal and grow.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, it's my goal to help you feel respected and create a safe environment for you to share whatever you need to during therapy. It is my intention to empower you, strengthen your individuality, help to strengthen your belief that you have great worth, and that you can overcome traumatic events and memories. We are more than the thoughts we have that we're ashamed of, we're more than the worst moments of our lives, much more than our mistakes, and in my practice, I respect the courage it takes to be vulnerable, honest, and open to new ways of thinking.

Are you in your 20s or 30s and struggling to re-enter life post-pandemic? I specialize in helping young adults to navigate life transitions and obstacles. Anxiety can be debilitating. You may find that you’re constantly worrying, on edge, or fearing that something bad might happen. You feel as if you can’t seem to get your mind to calm down, to take a break, to relax. You may feel badly about yourself, and notice you’re criticizing yourself more often. You might even become fearful of your anxiety, furthering this vicious cycle. Some might be able to pinpoint these feelings to something specific, while others may have a difficult time figuring out where this feeling came from, and why it won’t go away. Either way, anxiety leaves you feeling drained, exhausted, and out of control.

We are often told to “just get over it”. Although often well-intentioned, this saying is neither helpful or realistic. It is my firm belief that we don’t “get over” things, but we make meaning and learn to live with our experiences. As a certified EMDR therapist, I take pride in helping people do just that. Trauma impacts us all in unique ways and EMDR can help people achieve a variety of their personal goals related to healing, growth, and becoming “unstuck” from past experiences. From minor to major traumas, I am committed to helping you overcome your past and look forward to your future without fear and distress.
