Come as you are. Move at your pace. Find your way forward. If you feel ready for something deeper than surface-level fixes. If you're tired of just managing symptoms and want real transformation that honors your whole self. If you've tried quick solutions, but you're looking for healing that addresses root causes, not symptoms. If you want to understand deeper patterns in your life and relationships, and you're motivated to do meaningful work that leads to lasting change. If you deserve support that sees you as a complete person, not just problems to solve. We will work well if these statements are true for your healing journey.

Hi, I'm Ande. I work with women, teens, and children who may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, struggling with self-esteem, or navigating difficult life experiences. Many of the individuals I support appear to be “holding it together” on the outside, while internally feeling exhausted, stuck, or unsure of where to turn next. I believe that no one should have to face life’s most difficult moments alone. Therapy offers a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted—without judgment. Whether you are navigating everyday stressors, past experiences, or current challenges, we will work together at your pace.

You’re thoughtful and self-aware, but lately you feel disconnected, like you’ve lost touch with what you actually want. Maybe a relationship has shifted, your role has changed, or you’re questioning old beliefs that no longer fit. You’ve spent so long being who you should be that you’re unsure who you are. You want to feel grounded and genuine again, to trust yourself, honor your needs, and move through change with compassion instead of pressure. If starting feels overwhelming, we can take it one step at a time.

You don’t have to have it all figured out to deserve support. Maybe you’re the high-achiever who looks successful on the outside but quietly battles perfectionism, burnout, anxiety, or the fear of “not being good enough.” Maybe you’re a new mom trying to recognize yourself in the mirror again. Maybe you’re navigating the intensity of college, medical school, law school, career uncertainty, relationship stress, or a major life transition that’s left you feeling overwhelmed and disconnected. Therapy can be a place where you finally exhale.

You've had a loss and the people around you just don't understand what you're going through. Maybe a loved one died or you're going through a divorce. Maybe you've lost your job or are moving to a new place and starting over. You need to talk to someone but you don't know where to go. No one around you seems to get it. Who better to talk to about your grief than someone who has been there? I've had a lot of loss. Loss is universal but each path through grief is unique, and I keep that in mind as I tailor my support to your individual needs.

As a therapist, I want to have a safe and comfortable space for women to share their personal experiences. My practice focuses on supporting women because they often face unique emotional, social, and systemic challenges that can deeply affect their mental health. Many women navigate intersecting pressures — balancing careers, caregiving roles, societal expectations, and personal growth — all while encountering gender-based stressors such as inequality, discrimination, and trauma.

I’m a PsyPact-licensed psychologist, which means I can work with folks in North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and 39 other states. My path to this work is personal. Growing up, I often felt like I didn’t quite fit in — like my feelings were too big, and I didn’t know what to do with them. I know how lonely it can feel to think something might be wrong with you. That’s why I’m so passionate about helping others find clarity, connection, and a little more kindness toward themselves.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
