I am a Person-Centered therapist, meaning I maintain that clients are the experts of their lives, problems, solutions, relationships and more. My role is to support and assist you in the process of finding valid solutions or coping techniques for the problems and symptoms you experience. I strive to provide a safe, accepting, and comfortable environment in which you are free to explore your symptoms, concerns, and beliefs without judgement. In turn, you are then able to access the internal wealth of knowledge you possess.

Are you motivated to make some changes and consider some different perspectives? I look forward to coming to my office every week to help clients work through their anxiety, depression, PTSD, or just life's stresses. As a trauma focused therapist, I don't ask "what's wrong with you," but rather "what happened to you?" and help you sort through your experiences to help you to understand yourself, and to identify the changes you want to make. Working through your thoughts and emotions is a unique and exciting journey, even when it's hard. I am always honored by the opportunity to walk with someone along that path.

Waitlist for new clients
I previously worked as a psychologist who also trained doctoral and master's level graduate students in integrative, psychodynamic psychotherapy through a seminar I lead, supervision, and supervision of new supervisors.
I work with people who are stuck in a feeling, thought, or behavior with no room for other feelings, other thoughts, or contact with others beyond what they are stuck with. I work with people experiencing something painful and curious that they know is coming from them but it's as if it is happening to them. In other words, something like a painful dream, which I know is coming from me but it's as if it's happening to me. I work with people who feel enough security in our relationship to be able to talk about our relationship. The arts and humanities have been a fixture of my professional life in addition to being a psychologist.

Hi there! I'm assuming you made it to my page because life has gotten particularly difficult and you're searching for confirmation that "you are not crazy for feeling that way". We are not crazy for feeling - and therapy can help assist you in understanding why some emotions are more difficult for you to feel than others. Recovery is about learning tolerance; not forgetting or dismissing your experiences.

I believe that when grievers tell their stories, they are often struggling to make sense of the event. Grievers, telling and retelling their stories, are an integral part of the grieving process. I developed an approach for the grief journey, that removes the traditional stages and timeframes and banishes the word closure. The approach is more about weaving your loss into your life and honoring your journey instead of treating it like a problem to be solved. I have found that, "the only cure for grief, is to grieve."

Outpatient was the destination and I landed in 2007. Prior to that, I worked in Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services, Family Based Mental Health Services, and a Residential Treatment Facility. Bachelor's in Psychology. Master's in Counseling (Existential, Humanistic, Phenomenological, CBT, MFT). Post-grad in Gestalt. When Covid happened and most of my case-load went to Zoom, I moved my office to my house since it felt silly to drive somewhere just to jump on a computer. It's 15-20 min north of Harrisburg in the cornfields before Halifax. More than welcome to do In-Person or Zoom.

In addition, I serve as a clinical supervisor to pre-licensed professionals in the process of obtaining full licensure.
Life can feel stagnant and heavy, as if daily challenges are becoming too much to carry. Sometimes what’s needed is support and relief from the overwhelm; other times, it’s the readiness to face deeper pain and long-held trauma. With constant change and difficult decisions, it can seem like everything is working against you. In those moments, having a safe, nonjudgmental space matters—a place where your experiences are respected, and where you can recognize your need for change and feel empowered to shape your own path forward.

I became a therapist because I have found that helping others is one of the greatest privileges afforded to a person. For me, working with people experiencing difficulty is a both a passion and a calling. My sense of purpose in life-what I describe as my spirituality-is directly connected to finding ways to be of service to other people. I work with adolescents and adults dealing with substance use and addictions, mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, or just the general stress of living in a chaotic world.

Clinical Supervision and Licensed Supervisors Therapists
Clinical supervisors provide formal supervision, guidance and expertise for pre-qualified professionals and those seeking supervision for their everyday practices. While each membership organization has its own unique requirements, professionals offering clinical supervision help new practitioners advance their clinical knowledge, and satisfy requirements leading to full qualification.
