This can lead to feelings of guilt, shame, numbness, feeling detached from others and low self-esteem and can have negative long-term impacts.
What if I told you that you wouldn’t have to avoid people, places or activities? Seems impossible, right? Wrong! Nothing is impossible. While working in a safe setting, you can learn grounding skills to utilize when experiencing intrusive thoughts, identify self-worth, and learn to process ways to focus on what is in your control.

I help address emotional issues like low self-esteem and rejection sensitivity.
Are you a woman who has gotten a diagnosis of ADHD later in life? Your struggles went unnoticed because girls mask well and "act in" while most boys act out. It's incredibly validating to finally see your difficulties in a clearer light, but along with the new understanding of past struggles comes a new set of feelings and needs. I help my clients to navigate things like grief at missed career opportunities; sadness about friendships that never flourished; and emotions like guilt and shame. Let's embrace the positive things ADHD gives you and look with compassion at the ways it's made things in your life more difficult.

I approach therapy as a relational process, not a place where you come to be fixed. You’re not a problem to solve; you’re a person with a history, patterns that make sense, and a way of being in the world that developed for a reason. In our work together, we slow things down and get curious about what’s underneath the surface. I’m interested in who you are, not just what’s wrong. My goal is to create a space that feels real, thoughtful, and nonjudgmental, where you can begin to understand yourself more deeply and move toward something that feels more connected and meaningful.

I work with thoughtful, caring people who often put others first, sometimes at the expense of their own needs. They may struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, or feel stuck in one-sided relationships. On the outside, they seem like they have it all together, but inside, they often feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or not “good enough.” They want to feel more confident, set healthy boundaries, build fulfilling relationships, and embrace who they really are without fear or second-guessing.

I specialize in anxiety, perfectionism, and self esteem by using Brainspotting and CPT to help high achieving women process what talk therapy alone cannot reach.
You are smart, capable, and everyone relies on you but inside you question everything. But, why do you replay conversations at night, second guess decisions, or feel guilty when you try to rest? Maybe you look composed while your mind spins nonstop. You learned early that achievement kept you safe or valued, and now slowing down feels uncomfortable. You’re ready to stop overthinking, trust your instincts, feel grounded in relationships, and finally experience calm without having to earn it.

Self Esteem Therapists
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
