I specialize in mental health issues unique to women, with a focus on maternal and reproductive health, including peri/menopause. I treat women struggling with infertility, anxiety and/or depression during pregnancy and postpartum as well as perinatal loss and stillbirth. All of these issues can leave one feeling depressed, anxious, stressed, lonely and isolated, sometimes even if you already have a great support system in place. I also work with adult men and women experiencing depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, eating and body shape related concerns as well as individuals coping with medical diagnoses.

I am a Certified Sex Therapist as well as a Perinatal Mental Health professional, making me the first Orthodox Jewish woman who holds both credentials simultaneously.
Just because you carry it well, doesn't mean it isn't heavy. You deserve more than just being seen. The world is a scary and ever-changing place. Dealing with uncertainty, transition, and challenges puts stress on relationships, and on personal values. Curiosity, mindfulness, and a dialectical approach makes it possible to find meaning, and even pleasure, in some of the most bleak situations, with the right support.

Looking inward isn’t easy. It takes hard work to look at the stuff that keeps getting in the way of having the life you want. Often times it’s fear, other times it’s something more concrete. No matter what barriers you’re facing, together we can work through the fears and accomplish your goals. When we’re suffering from a loss, fighting a personal battle, processing a difficult childhood, facing a scary diagnosis, or other major life transition we all need support to have someone to walk along side us, see the light when we cannot, and hold us until we’re on the other side.

Are you feeling stuck? I help clients feel seen, understood and empowered to create change in their lives and relationships. I see my role in the therapeutic relationship as a catalyst to help increase awareness and trust to support freedom of expression, insight, and healing. In therapy sessions, I work in collaboration with individuals and couples to identify areas that are inhibiting quality of life and focus on building existing strengths and new skills. I believe that each individual is an expert in their own lives and has the strengths and potential to actualize the change they want to see.

My work centers on mothers and women throughout adulthood, from singleness, to infertility to perinatal transitions to menopause.
I often begin with CBT to offer practical tools, and integrate Narrative Therapy to deepen understanding. I also draw on ACT and Solution-Focused Therapy to meet individual needs. These approaches are grounded in the Holding modality, which is the foundation of my practice.

My work also includes supporting individuals in the perinatal period—a time that can bring both joy and unexpected emotional challenges.
Sometimes life can feel overwhelming. Between work, school, relationships, and the weight of everyday stress, it's easy to lose sight of yourself. Whether you're navigating early adulthood, major life transitions, or the emotional complexities that can come with becoming a parent, your well-being matters.

Anxiety, depression, anger, and low self-esteem are issues that can be overwhelming. I help clients to identify the factors that contribute to these issues, and then assist in formulating a plan to reduce the symptoms and resolve the problems. I provide a warm, nonjudgmental environment to address these concerns. Additionally, I am experienced in working with individuals and couples struggling with relationships and/or parenting. Parenting can be wonderful, but also extremely challenging. Relationships can falter. These situations can bring up unexpected thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to share with friends and family.

EMDR Intensives! You're not new to therapy. It's helped, but still feels like there's more to work through, to resolve, to connect. EMDR intensives are designed to give you the time and space you need to go deeper, sit longer - no more stopping just when things begin to shift, simply because the clock says so. Other modalities - including Internal Family Systems - are skillfully interwoven into the EMDR sessions. If you're ready for expert support to achieve real growth and change, you've found the right person. And with multiple intentionally-curated location options, you can also choose the right place.

Being a human is hard. It can feel heavy, overwhelming, and sometimes lonely. Most days, there’s barely time to process what’s going on, let alone how we’re feeling. It’s easy to get caught in loops, cycles that are based on the thoughts and behaviors we’ve relied on to survive. Therapy is a space for you to catch your breath and figure things out. I’m not the kind of therapist who sits back and scribbles on a notepad. I believe that you’re the expert of your life and I’m here to support you — to hold the map, flashlight, and the bag of snacks.

Great to meet you! I create a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore challenging emotions, thoughts, and intrapersonal/interpersonal issues. I have expertise in addressing trauma, mood and personality disorders, self esteem issues, and relationship conflicts. There is space for clients to explore, get curious about themselves, and identify their own desired areas of growth. I lead with compassion and curiosity, instead of making assumptions, and I find that there is a depth of knowledge to learn when each client is given the chance.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?
In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
