My primary focus is co- parenting counseling and relationship therapy.
I have a special interest in the family system and how that affects each individual. This includes psychotherapeutic treatment of couples, parents and their children. My goal going into each session with my clients is to help them feel, think and act more positively and have an overall improved quality of life than when they originally came to see me. The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important things when engaging in the counseling process which means my primary focus is to aid my clients in handling stress and daily challenges. It can be difficult but with my support it is absolutely attainable.

While specializing in services with neurodiverse children and adolescents, I encourage frequent parent and school collaboration and consultation; my goal is for clients to generalize skills beyond the therapy room.
My therapeutic role at the Social Enrichment Center, a center specializing in social and behavioral therapy, offers me unique experience working with a spectrum of emotional, social, and behavioral manifestations related to autism, anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I have six years of experience working with autism, anxiety, and depressive disorder, so I strive to help clients understand and manage dynamic emotions. I work with adolescents and adults who face challenges related to ADHD, learning problems, anxiety, stress management, and general wellness/lifestyle. Using a combination of cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and relational techniques and theories I am able to tailor treatment to your specific needs. My emphasis is on connection, collaboration, and self-care throughout the treatment process. While my primary focus is individual therapy, at times I find it appropriate to incorporate family members into sessions to address issues such as parenting , family dynamics, relationship issues, or school problems.

Being a parent seems harder everyday. After trying everything, nothing seems to work. It feels helpless. Is there anything you can do? If your child seems to be living in other world, where there is no space for you, we need to find a way to reach out. If your child is out of control, leaving the house and/or being aggressive, we need to think what can be done. If your child is cutting, or increasingly more isolated, your influence is very, very important. Call me and let’s explore solutions. Together.

We have experience working with families whose children and adolescents are experiencing attention difficulties, anxiety and depression, suicidal thoughts and behavior, social withdrawal, oppositional and defiant behavior at home and at school, parent -child conflicts, sibling conflicts, drug and alcohol abuse, symptoms of attachment disorders and low self-esteem.
We are a group of mental health practitioners devoted to bringing the best practices in psychotherapy to children, adolescents, families, and couples. We work against the cultural grain of increasing isolation and emphasis on individual pathology in mental health treatment. Taking guidance from the growing body of research on interpersonal neurobiology, we address a wide range of personal and interpersonal problems through relationship-based therapies that tap the tremendous healing power of families.

Let’s face it...sometimes life can feel overwhelming and you might be wondering if therapy can help. Let me tell you a little bit about myself and you can determine if we might be a good match. I work with female adolescents and adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, transitions, parenting issues and trauma. I believe that we each have many strengths within us, even if it doesn’t always feel that way, and that each of us is the expert of our own life and knows what we need to do to cope, heal and feel complete. I also know that sometimes those strengths and solutions can feel elusive and that’s where I can help.

Parenting Therapists

What does therapy for parenting look like?

Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?

When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?

Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?

Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
