Therapy and the treatment of anxiety is challenging and ultimately highly rewarding work when clients receive relief from their symptoms. I value the balance of the interpersonal and relational components of the therapeutic relationship with the development of practical and evidence- based skills to achieve long lasting symptom reduction.

I utilize evidence-based treatments for anxiety, eating, mood, trauma, women’s health, and co-occurring disorders including attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depressive, obsessive-compulsive disorder ( OCD), panic disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and specific phobias.
As a postdoctoral fellow at Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), I work under the license and supervision of the expert clinicians on staff. I prioritize collaboration, compassion, and genuineness in the therapeutic relationship to accomplish therapeutic goals. I use CBT interventions and incorporate motivational interviewing and mindfulness in my work with clients. CBT is a time-sensitive, structured, present-oriented form of talk therapy that has been scientifically tested and found to be effective for the treatment of many different physical and mental health issues.

I am a compassionate clinical social worker who believes in the ability of human beings to change their lives and behaviors. My biggest strength is in creating a safe environment where my clients feel comfortable revealing their deepest feelings and fears without judgement. I see the role of the therapist as being a facilitator; helping clients to explore their concerns or symptoms in order to gain insight into their lives and relationships.

I work with adolescents and adults who are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or disconnected from themselves or others. Many people I work with are navigating anxiety, trauma, or long-standing relational patterns and are looking for a space where they can slow down, feel understood, and begin making sense of what they’re experiencing.

Hi there! I'm Dr. Hillary Ammon. I founded the Center for Anxiety and Women’s Emotional Wellness to provide specialized, effective treatment to these populations. After years of working within hospital settings, I decided to take my own advice and live a life that better aligns with my values, by striking a balance of work and family life and creating this private practice. I continue to work at Penn as adjunct faculty. I am passionate about working with women and clients with anxiety, both unique populations, and providing evidence-based, yet tailored-care, and a virtual space to reflect, approach, problem-solve, and change.

I believe most people benefit from a therapist who can share an understanding of their situation or relationship, while also providing a new perspective and feedback on what is getting in their way. Whether you want to take better care of yourself or your relationship with an important person, or you want to address a big stressor, I can help you feel more self-assured and make constructive changes.

My primary focus is anxiety, depression, self esteem, phobias, fears, eating disorders, OCD symptoms, agoraphobia, Body Focused Repetitive Behavior and finding meaning to life and answer questions like, why am I here?
Hello, my name is Elizabeth DeLullo and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. I have over 14 years experience working with people from age 3 to 89. One of the best things about coming to therapy is the amount of courage it took for you to get here. You know what you want out of life and you know when you are not getting it. There is nothing I dislike more than to see human suffering. I have gone through my own and was determined to not let it ruin my life. Sometimes all it takes if for you to feel heard, understood, and feel validated. I'm a strong believer in Exposure Response Prevention Therapy.

OCD is a very treatable condition; however, you must work with someone who has experience, training, and creativity.
I'd describe my clinical style as direct, curious, and collaborative. I will take time to understand your goals for treatment and provide you with the information, support, and strategies necessary to decrease the impact of your obsessions and compulsions so that you may live a fuller and richer life.

My aim is to better understand your life experiences and relationships in determining whether they are contributing to or challenging your day-to-day well-being. The relationship we will build will serve as an important piece to increase understanding and where the healing process can begin. Therapeutic goals vary, however, individual insights provide the opportunity for perspective shifts in how we feel about ourselves, our experiences and our relationships. Throughout this process, a majority of my clients find symptom relief as they develop an increased capacity to tolerate and regulate challenging emotions.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
