I actively incorporate a whole-person perspective including somatic therapy and spirituality to address my clients' concerns.
Are you living with the painful consequences of bad decisions and want more joy, ease, and fulfillment? Do you want to stop fighting and start cooperating, connecting, and communicating in your relationships? Maybe you feel frozen, on an emotional rollercoaster, or both depending on the day. Do you want to experience your emotions as supporting your richer more satisfying life? Are you feeling lonely and isolated, like no one gets you or even wants to? Would you like more mutually loving relationships where you are seen, heard, and treated with respect? Are you looking for an LGBTQ ally?

Through somatic practices, parts work/IFS, and trauma-informed techniques, we’ll rebuild safety in your body and mind.
Are you stuck in your head—overthinking and intellectualizing— while everything seems fine on the surface? Are you tired of shrugging things off, shoving your feelings down, and pretending not to care? When your partner asks you "what's wrong?" you freeze and say "nothing." You're disconnected from your body and have no idea what it means to "feel a feeling." You want to show up authentically and be seen for who you really are but vulnerability and saying what you need feels hard. Past wounds make it even harder to trust and connect, and sometimes staying in your head feels safer than feeling what’s underneath.

My person-centered, somatic and humanistic approach to movement therapy encourages you to tap into your sensations, feelings, intuition and interpretation.
My focus of interest is to become a therapeutic container to support the exploration of the mind-body connection within children and teens. I believe that the body carries valuable information about ourselves and our minds are actively trying to interpret it. I specialize in children who seek to improve their body awareness which provides coping skills for self-regulation, positive self-talk and overall physical/mental wellness. I have experience working with children with autism, adopted families, neurodivergent movers and people simply want a better connection with their bodies

I describe my therapeutic approach as a trauma-informed and mindfulness based lens while also drawing on elements of CBT, ACT, TF-CBT, EMDR, Flash Technique, and Somatic Psychotherapy to support clients with challenges ranging from life transitions to reprocessing and healing from traumatic events.
I am passionate about creating a safe, healing space that allows individuals to reconnect with their full selves. I offer a person-centered approach to encourage a collaborative environment and to support the unique experiences, challenges, and goals that each individual may have. I find it important to acknowledge how the body can hold stress and trauma and to reflect on the mind-body connection within sessions to support identifying and meeting needs, rebuilding awareness of oneself, and to acknowledge holistic care. My goal is to ensure each individual can develop skills and resources to support themselves in their daily lives.

For healing to be truly transformative, it must be both relational and somatic.
I work best with clients who are seeking deep transformation. In my experience, true healing begins when we tend to our core wounds and gently clear the blocks that prevent us from living in alignment with our deeper truth and inner integrity. My approach is rooted in the belief that to fully return to ourselves, we must release the imprints of trauma—personal, ancestral, and collective—as well as the layers of social conditioning that disconnect us from who we are. I pay close attention to the relational field, and the ways relational trauma and disconnection shape our sense of self.

After graduation, I intend to seek licensure while working towards certification in the specialties of Internal Family Systems, Somatic IFS, and EMDR.
Are you struggling to feel at home in your body and mind due to your past experiences? What about feeling out of control of your emotional responses to the little things? Are your relationships with your partner, parents, children, or friends being negatively impacted these things you wish you could change but don't know how? Do you believe you're a burden to everyone around you even though people consistently tell you that you're not? Just feeling kind of alone? Let's work together to get to the bottom of those feelings, process the hard emotions, and learn how to feel confident and authentic in your identity. You can do this.

Somatic Therapists

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
