Life's a bitch and then you die. For many of us, this is not just a hook to a classic song but a "fact of life". And if you are reading this, chances are this feeling applies to you. And there are so many factors play a part in why life is so hard. In my time as a therapist, I've had so many emerging adults(18-25) reach out to me with feelings of anxiety and depression about their current lives and the feeling of hopelessness about their future. And trust me, I get it because I was that emerging adult many, many years ago. It may not be "life" that's a bitch, but just past or present moments that we currently struggle with.

I am a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I believe that the relationship between client and therapist is central to helping the client create positive change in their life. By joining with my clients, providing a warm and therapeutic environment, I create the emotional space for the client to begin to open up, to learn about themselves, and to make changes in their lives. I believe that the client is the expert in their own life, and it is my job to join with them, to elicit what’s coming up inside, to reflect and consider, and to work to gain a new understanding of themselves.

Therapy can be a space for healing, empowerment, and growth, but starting that process can be difficult and takes a lot of courage. As a therapist, I believe that building a strong therapeutic relationship is a key component to creating a safe, accepting environment from which you can heal and grow. I work together with my clients to relieve the pain that has brought them to this moment, while also helping promote true healing through deeper reflection of their life experiences while incorporating history, culture, and identity.

“Life is a journey to be experienced, not a problem to be solved”, said by Winnie the Pooh. I received both of my master’s degrees at University of Pennsylvania in 2016 and 2017. I specialize in high functioning anxiety, depression, unleveled self-esteem, stress management, and helping individuals coming from various ethnic, cultural, economic, and religious backgrounds balance cross-cultural negotiations and aspects of identities. If you are seeking the strength in your authentic self, ability to handle "imperfections" and "insecurities" with unconditional love, and create structures for multilayered emotions, I am one email away

Cognitive Processing (CPT) Therapists

How does cognitive processing therapy work?

A CPT therapist helps a client evaluate their thoughts about the trauma they experienced, focusing on maladaptive or self-blaming thoughts that can exacerbate symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, or depression. The therapist will work with a client to help them learn to challenge such thoughts and consider different perspectives. The therapist is also likely to ask a client to work on these techniques at home between meetings, such as writing an account of their trauma that can be read aloud during a future session.

What is cognitive processing therapy for PTSD?

Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy primarily used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to treat individuals who experienced abuse or violence, who survived natural disasters, who were first responders to such incidents, or who otherwise experienced trauma.

How long does cognitive processing therapy last?

CPT is a short-term therapy. Whether conducted one-on-one or in a group, a complete set of CPT sessions typically includes 12 weekly sessions, along with tasks for clients to complete at home, although this can vary depending on a client’s needs or a therapist’s particular treatment plan. Sessions typically last 60 or 90 minutes.

How effective is cognitive processing therapy?

A large body of research supports the use of CPT to treat people experiencing PTSD, finding it to be effective among different age groups, either in one-on-one therapy sessions or in a group therapy environment. Research suggests that although the initial sessions may be difficult, clients tend to begin to feel positive progress after the first few sessions, and that the benefits tend to last well after the therapy ends.
