I am fully certified in EMDR Therapy, Brainspotting, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and TF-CBT.
Over my time in practice, I have come to learn that much of our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors stem from parental figures and relationships, childhood experiences, significant life events, as well as responses to the here and now. My goal is to work collaboratively with you, to support you, and to assist you in attending to what you feel is important through the cultivation of a strength-based, empathetic, and warm environment. "Who looks outside dreams; who looks inside awakes."

My primary treatment is a neurological and somatic therapy technique called Brainspotting.
I love working with a variety of backgrounds and ages and providing a space that is warm, open and validating. I have a particular passion for working with those who are dealing with the effects of childhood trauma, whether that be emotional, verbal, physical or sexual abuse. Painful relationships can often be the place that many of our symptoms or unhealthy behaviors stem from. It's my desire to walk alongside those who want to bring healing to this area of their life and experience a deeper sense of safety within themselves and within their relationships.

So, I incorporate somatic-psychology (body), neuro-pscyhological work (nervous system techniques), Brainspotting, parts work, etc.
Find yourself over-thinking? Over-functioning? Feeling stuck, stressed and maybe even resentful? Tend to be the one who often gives and cares a lot in your relationships? You're strong, but exhausted. You work hard to keep it all together so people view you as confident, capable and worthy. They don't know you're falling apart inside, feeling frustrated, unappreciated, stressed out, and sometimes even hopeless. You want better. You want to really ENJOY life and your relationships. You want your mind to calm and body to feel more at ease, more often. The reasons why are complex and your experience is unique but different is possible.

I am trained in trauma-informed and sensory-based methods that are neurodivergent-friendly, including EMDR and brainspotting.
Are you a neurodivergent woman who feels like you’re living in a world that wasn’t made for you? The parts about yourself that you love—your interest in new hobbies, your tendency to daydream—make you feel like you don’t quite belong. You often feel bored, distracted, and disconnected from others, often analyzing social situations to try and pinpoint where you went wrong. You spend so much time masking your ADHD or autism that you’re not entirely sure who you really are anymore. You want to find a way to go through life that doesn’t force you to change, but instead celebrates the real, authentic version of you.

I utilize Brainspotting, EMDR and Narrative talk therapy to ease self-criticism and promote healing.
We’re in an age of overwhelm. I help clients develop healthy self-compassion as they balance responsibilities and relationships with the cumulative stress of unresolved traumas and/or the current economic, political, and environmental crises. When we explore patterns in our boundaries, families, and relationships, we can reveal deeper truths and unmet needs, and are empowered to make changes that promote safety and reduce the feeling of being stuck. It is important that you feel heard by a professional who supports you. Third Culture Kids, nomads, fish out of water, and micro-minorities welcome. We will create context.

This has led to pursing further post-graduate training in Mindfulness, Past Life Therapy (using Hypnosis), Reiki, Internal Family Systems and Brainspotting.
We all need someone to talk to at different times in our lives, especially when it is difficult for our closest loved ones to give unbiased feedback. As a counselor, I join with individuals, couples and families to help them utilize their inner and collective strengths to face their difficulties. By building skills and strategies to address their struggles, people can transcend their past suffering, cope with present difficulties and move forward in life. I create space for connection and healing by offering a private, supportive, and safe place to allow people to bring forth their authentic selves.

Brainspotting Therapists

How does brainspotting work?

Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?

Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?

Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?

A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
