I’m a licensed therapist working with adults who experience challenges such as anxiety, depression, anger, grief, life transitions, recurring relational patterns, self-doubt, meaninglessness, or the lingering effects of past traumas. I recognize these challenges are connected to childhood, family dynamics, relationships, history, culture, and systemic factors like racial, economic, sexual, and environmental oppression. A core part of my approach is embracing the fundamental humanity of everyone I work with and providing a compassionate, understanding space.

You might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or quietly wondering why life feels harder than it “should.” Maybe you’re dealing with anxiety or depression, relationship challenges, identity questions, or a major life transition that’s left you feeling unsteady. You may not have the perfect words for what’s wrong—you just know something feels off. Often, people I work with want relief, clarity, and a deeper sense of connection to themselves or others, and a space where they can be honest without being judged. (And no, you don’t have to cry on the first session—unless you want to.)

Overwhelming worry and stress seem to follow you everywhere. You struggle to maintain focus, make decisions, and let go of things. You dream of a happier life – free from worry, present in the moment, and optimistic about the future – and wonder if it is possible. You might be feeling stuck, overthinking your decisions, or frustrated that the same patterns keep showing up in your relationships, focus, or stress levels. You may also feel mentally scattered, distracted, or overwhelmed by competing demands. You’re not looking for therapy that just talks in circles—you want clarity, direction, and tools that actually help. I work best with men and teens who are curious, ask questions, and want to understand why they feel the way they do so they can change it. If you’re motivated to learn skills, communicate better, and apply what we discuss between sessions, this may be a good fit.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?
There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.
How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?
Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.
Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?
Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.
Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?
Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
