Hi! I am Lyn Rairdon, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have experience working at inpatient, outpatient, and higher education counseling services. I specialize in working with individuals from 15 to 65 years old.

I have been working in family systems for 7 years. In saying that, I have a ton of experience working with families and couples to help create better relationships. I have also worked with children ages 5-17 supporting them through anxiety, depression, and extensive trauma.

There are many reasons why people struggle in their daily lives, which leads them to seek out therapy. Sometimes, it's because people want to learn more about themselves or cope with stressors and relationships; other times, it's due to specific issues (e.g., depression, anxiety, etc.) that are starting to significantly impact their lives and functioning. We will work together to get to the root of the issue and learn ways to cope with these challenges so you can find fulfillment in your life. It is incredibly meaningful to me to help others learn about themselves and grow through the therapeutic process.

What sets me apart is that I will call you within 24 hours of getting a call from you.I suppose my ideal client would be the one that would feel the best fit with me. After the research that has been done, what matters most is the relationship (the fit) you have with your therapist, not their level of expertise, sense of humor, great coping skills, etc. However, I do best with individuals who are highly motivated to change. That does not mean that there will not be setbacks. However, it's how we view those setbacks. Are they failures or learning experiences? I prefer learning experiences. My goal is to get you to be your ideal self.

I give clients the opportunity to explore inner struggles while I provide guidance and support. We work jointly to find solutions to life's dilemmas and to explore alternative paths. There is no one approach to therapy. I find that if I talk too much, then the client is not getting enough from the encounter. I have worked effectively with men and see males as terrific clients.

I am a private therapist with over 35 years of experience in fields of child welfare, clinical supervision, family therapy, school-based crisis services, and private practice. In my current role as a therapist, I work with adult individuals and couples. With my training in family therapy, I view each person as a unique member of a family system that is part of a larger social network

I believe one of the most important parts of the counseling process is to develop a trusting caring relationship. With this relationship, much can be gained from the counseling sessions. For many clients, helping them understand what creates such emotional pain, gaining insights puts them on a path for a more fulfilling life.
