In my nearly 20 years as a psychologist it has become clear to me that entering into therapy takes courage. It takes courage to look at one's struggles and go near painful aspects of life. It takes courage to make changes; in the way we see ourselves, our relationships and our future. As a therapist, I see my role as not the agent of change, but as someone who 'walks with' the person who is courageously ready to change. I enjoy working at changes in individuals and couples as well as families.
With over 10 years experience as a psychotherapist, 2 1/2 years as the Outpatient Coordinator of the Mental Health Outpatient Program at T.W. Ponessa & Associates Counseling Services, Inc and as a graduate of Lancaster Bible College specializing in Elementary School Counseling, I am serving as a private practitioner since 2017 working with individuals, couples, children, adolescents and teens. Among my areas of expertise are Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), working with female victims of Domestic violence, and Mental Health disorders.
I help couples and individuals work through life’s challenges. I use a caring approach while integrating effective treatment models to help people thrive in life. Specialties Include: Couples Therapy for Desire Differences, Sexual Issues, Communication Issues, Intimacy Conflict, Navigation of Medical dx, and Trauma. I am open to working with individuals and couples who have traditional as well as non-traditional partnerships. I provide a supportive and safe space for individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community. I also specialize in helping young adults recover from childhood trauma and in empowering them to find their own path in life.
In my practice I work to assist clients in regaining a sense of balance and peace in their lives. Together we work through whatever changes or transitions life has presented. These include changes in family, relationship or employment status as well as losses, big or small, that impact his/her life. I assist them in processing through the emotions that go with these changes and/or losses. Mine is a strengths based, client oriented approach. I model the therapy based on what works best for the client and the strengths and skills he/she brings with them to therapy.

I believe that with the right support, and appropriate tools, everyone has the capacity to change. I have been working with children, adolescents, and individuals for over a decade, and have witnessed dramatic transformations along the way. I have worked with clients with a variety of clinical symptoms, and use a client-centered approach that is unique to each client. Ecotherapy can be a vital add-on to the immense healing that CBT can provide. Online telehealth sessions focus on what you want to ADDRESS and remedy (e.g. anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, stress, relationship troubles, parenting, self-esteem, addiction, panic/phobia, aging, and more). as well as how to COPE with challenges, uncertainty and distress.
I have evening and weekend appointments to fit your schedule. Get to know me better at CenterForActiveMinds.com or check out my insta at Center4ActiveMinds. Due to high demand, I am not currently taking on new clients at this time. If interested, I can provide referrals to colleagues and/or place new potential clients on a waitlist so that I may contact you once an opening becomes available.
