Life today creates many challenges and obstacles, but also opportunities to grow. Counseling can be a vital part to gaining and maintaining a healthy and well-balanced life. I view therapy as a way to heal through telling your story in a non-judgmental and safe setting. Therapy will give you the tools which will allow you to live your best life. Are you ready to start your counseling journey?
My most enjoyable times in therapy are the moments when a person realizes they have it within them to recognize a change to be made, the skills to do it, and feels successful. To experience that life changing moment with them is awe-inspiring. Some call this an "A-ha moment," "light bulb going off," or an "epiphany." Instead, I call this the moment when a person switches the channel of their inner voice from: self-blaming, hyper-critical, guilt driven, and fear-mongering to one that is: self-compassionate, self-forgiving, self-empowering, self-accepting, and value-driven.
I am passionate about helping women find relief from overwhelming feelings. Women decide to meet with me when they are feeling anxious or sad, lacking energy, feeling ‘stuck’, or wanting positive self-esteem. Also, I meet with women experiencing maternal mental health concerns including difficulty with being or becoming a mom, miscarriage support, and fertility treatment support. Dr. Jennifer Collins and I are available for one time fertility evaluations for individuals or couples using donor gametes for assisted reproduction as referred by a doctor.
I use an integrative approach to counseling and psychotherapy to help meet the unique needs of each client. I understand that a strong therapeutic relationship, including a foundation of trust, is essential to the therapeutic process. Learning about my client and understanding the presenting issues, we then work collaboratively to identify goals for therapy. A Treatment Plan, tailored to each client, involves a combination of cognitive, affective, behavioral, and somatic techniques. I draw from a variety of methodologies and techniques to incorporate what is most helpful in resolving current and long-standing issues.

My goal is to support and assist you in overcoming obstacles that may be hindering you from living the life you’ve always wanted. People often believe the myth that therapy is just clients talking about their problems, the reality is much more complex! I love my work, because people show up with courage amid the difficulty of life to share honestly about the things that matter most deeply to them. In return, I offer engaged presence, kindness, and new ideas to those who bravely share their inspiring, beautiful, wounded, in-process selves. Then we work together to build insight and movement towards being whole and living their unique lives well.
I believe that people have within them, the strength and resources that they need to address and resolve problems in living. Whether the issue is trauma, anxiety, depression, or other disorder or the person is an adolescent or adult, there is hope for successfully overcoming life's challenges. I am committed to providing excellent therapeutic care by partnering with people to discover those hidden strengths and resources that can be channeled to successfully meet treatment goals that have been identified by the individual.

Andy Warhol said, “They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.” I believe that change is possible in a space filled with compassion and authenticity. My role is to guide people through their struggles and challenges by accessing their true potential and removing obstacles. Change happens when a person steps outside of their comfort zone to challenge existing beliefs.
My clinical work is focused on working with adolescents and adults seeking assistance with a variety of mental health concerns, including, but not limited to, grief, depression, anxiety, identity, and interpersonal relationships. In an effort to equip clients with the tools they need to enact more effective patterns, my treatment involves providing psycho-education, encouraging increased self- and others-awareness, facilitating a deeper understanding of existing thinking and feeling patterns, and utilizing clients’ natural strengths to promote a healthy and authentic lifestyle.

"My mental health has taken a turn for the worst, but I’m the one who helps other people. I handle my issues on my own.” Sound like you? If so, depression and anxiety can often show up when we are constantly stressed with unhealthy relationships & boundaries. We feel guilty about asking for help, so we say we’re “fine”—and almost believe it— but when we hide our issues, we can find ourselves drinking more to cope, experiencing anxiety attacks from the overwhelm, and/or contemplating ending it all. What you're experiencing is evidence that we need to face some hidden issues, so that you can find freedom and balance in your life.
Are you feeling alone or overwhelmed? Sometimes finding a neutral and healthy space to process things can make all the difference and help you find your emotional and mental balance. I am here to work with you as you reach for the life you want to live.
When you are ready to make the courageous leap into counseling, I am here to assist with life transition issues, depression, and anxiety symptoms, the 20-somethings experience, relationships, body image issues, maternal health promotion, and recovery from trauma.
