I am and experienced holistic mindfulness based psychotherapist integrating modalities influenced by Ayurvedic philosophy, yoga philosophy, Buddhist psychology practices, non duality, psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, somatic experiencing, yoga therapy, breath work, mindfulness, and meditation.
Are you feeling out of alignment, disconnected and confused in your life right now? Are you lacking motivation, vision, purpose and focus? Are you ruminating on the past, and feeling stuck, overwhelmed and bewildered about what is next or where to turn? You are not alone. I understand how exhausting the process of finding the right therapist can be.

For some people, therapy is a scary word. There’s been a lot of stigma around it for a long time. But for others it is relief. It takes courage to begin therapy, whether it’s your first time or you’re returning after several years. Life transitions and events can sometimes lead to overwhelming feelings of stress and you need someone to help you navigate through these difficult times. I want my clients to find relief from what they are experiencing and give them an outlet to express themselves. Therapy is self-care, and I want clients to view it as such instead of something they “have to do”.

Using evidence-based approaches like IFS, DBT, somatic therapies and trauma-informed care, I help clients develop healthier relationships with food, their bodies, and themselves.
Are you or your child struggling with food, body image, or self-worth? Maybe you feel trapped in a cycle of restrictive eating, bingeing, or compulsive exercise. Perhaps negative thoughts about your body have taken over, making everyday life feel overwhelming. You don’t have to navigate this alone.

Our work begins with more traditional psychotherapeutic techniques that identify coping skills and cognitions, but then we will aim to take a deep dive into embodied, somatic experiences and feelings of connection to your innermost Self and the world around you.
I have training in Jungian Psychological Alchemy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Somatic Stress Release. I have a background in Kundalini Yoga that complements a depth approach to psychotherapy. Niche groups I work with include musicians, artists, people suffering grief/loss, and people new to therapy.

I am EMDR trained and I am currently in training with The Somatic Experiencing Institute.
You've tried the diets. You've read the self-help books. You've scoured TikTok and Instagram for answers. But, you just haven't been able to find your way out of dieting cycles, binge eating and harsh self-talk that leaves you feeling defeated and like you'll never feel normal around food or your body. I want you to know that healing is possible. That you can relearn how to trust your body and that you can heal from years of shame, blame, trauma and disconnection from yourself.

Somatic Therapists

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
