For some people, therapy is a scary word. There’s been a lot of stigma around it for a long time. But for others it is relief. It takes courage to begin therapy, whether it’s your first time or you’re returning after several years. Life transitions and events can sometimes lead to overwhelming feelings of stress and you need someone to help you navigate through these difficult times. I want my clients to find relief from what they are experiencing and give them an outlet to express themselves. Therapy is self-care, and I want clients to view it as such instead of something they “have to do”.

I serve mothers, couples, and extended family throughout the prenatal, pregnancy, and postpartum journey.
In a world that can feel increasingly polarized, our conversations make a difference in how we go on. Each interaction has the possibility of bringing us closer together or pushing us further apart. As we feel more understood, respected and capable, we can turn towards ourselves and one another with more compassion and capacity for connection. We can bring more curiosity to our contradictions and complexities.

Waitlist for new clients
I specialize in working with individuals and couples experiencing difficulties related to depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief/loss, life stressors, trauma, pregnancy loss, ppd and infertility.
Taking the first step to talk to a therapist can be overwhelming and frightening. It takes strength and courage, but it can be life changing. My goal is to create a safe, caring and nonjudgemental space for clients to be heard and understood. It is my privilege to work with individuals and couples to instill hope, empowerment, and support personal growth. Communicating feelings in a safe environment promotes healing through expression, which often leads to insight into self and more meaningful connections with others. Taking the first step is the most difficult step.

I specialize in helping clients heal their relationships with food and their bodies, as well as people in the parenthood journey including pregnancy, postpartum, and fertility concerns.
I hold a firm belief that all people have the knowledge and wisdom within themselves needed to heal, and that the therapeutic relationship can serve as a guide to living more authentically. I practice from a place of intuition and curiosity, and I hope to allow my clients the space to grow in ways that feel genuine and unique to them. I love working with clients to explore the "why" behind the way they function as a way to improve their overall wellbeing, and tailor my sessions to each individual person. I use processing past experiences as a way to encourage healing, as well as small shifts in the present to encourage change.

With specialized certifications in Perinatal Mental Health and ADHD clinical services, I provide compassionate and evidence-based care tailored to your unique needs.
I want to help first generation immigrant women because the struggles and challenges are unique. It is very difficult to find a therapist who has also experienced the generational/cultural views that often impede on our growth. It is very troublesome when we are trying to stay in tune with our cultural values while being modernized by American culture. First Generation Immigrants often feel the struggle of maintaining a balance and feeling inadequate because of unique morals.

I also have experience working with perinatal health and postpartum issues and have training from the Postpartum Support International (PSI).
Taking the time and energy to reflect and change is difficult, and it is a privilege for me to part of that process with you! I believe that everyone deserves and is able to achieve peace within themselves, with their bodies, and with their relationship with food. This means no more dieting. No more hatred towards your body. And no more "good and bad" foods. Body acceptance and eating intuitively without shame is possible. While my approach is eclectic and based on your needs and goals, it is always relational, person-centered, and goal oriented in an effort for you to feel better...with some humor mixed in as well!

Seeing a loved one pregnant or observing a gleaming parent is not as innocent and joyful when you experience reproductive challenges, child loss, or postpartum struggles.
I help you carry and work through the pain of these experiences by providing a safe space to uncover, rebuild and refine your story and sense of vitality. Along the way, I can help you remove barriers, practice self-compassion, and put the pieces back together in a way that feels right to you.

My specialties are in women’s health; specifically pregnancy and postpartum transitions, perimenopause, relational dynamics and available for LPC supervision.
We all have an intrinsic desire to move towards a sense of wholeness, which is achieved through psychological awareness, self-acceptance, and self-knowledge. This process takes courage, insight, vulnerability, and perspective-taking. The goal of therapy is to identify and examine areas that are no longer aligned, provide an opportunity to reflect upon them, and make changes that are aligned in the direction you wish to move. It is natural for humans to recreate what we know, reenact patterns relationally, which become normalized and even anticipated.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists

What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?

The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?

Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?

A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?

In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
