I work with teens, adults, and couples through the challenges and transitions that happen across life.
What if the life you’ve worked so hard to build looks successful on the outside—but doesn’t feel fulfilling on the inside? You may be meeting expectations, caring for others, and doing everything you’re “supposed” to do, yet still feel disconnected, stuck, or unsure of what comes next. Maybe you’re questioning who you are beyond your roles and responsibilities, longing for deeper connection, or searching for a clearer sense of purpose.

” We work with kids, teens, adults, couples, and families facing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism, relationship and family issues, and life changes.

We’ll meet you where you’re at, help you make sense of what’s been weighing you down, and actually work on it together. No pretending you have it all figured out. Overwhelming worry and stress follow you everywhere. Constant overthinking leaves you drained, restless, and on edge. But it doesn't have to stay that way. Imagine being free from the chaos, present in the moment, and hopeful for the future. That may sound like a tall order. When you've struggled long enough, it's hard to believe things can truly change. You've tried coping on your own, but solutions that used to work no longer seem to help. That’s where my therapy can step in – providing new, evidence-based strategies and support to get you back to yourself again.

Despite all of the time, the effort, the planning and mental energy you’ve poured into achieving the body and life of your dreams, you still haven’t felt that sigh of relief that it’s enough. That you’re enough. And, somehow, the more measures you take to be in control, the more out of control you actually feel. Leaving you grasping and spinning your wheels. Thinking of what you can do to feel a sense of stability in yourself and in your life. The burn out from trying to live up to an impossible standard is real.

You may look capable on the outside while, inside, you’re constantly bracing for something to go wrong. You might overthink interactions, feel like you’re in trouble even when no one is upset with you, shut down when overwhelmed, or struggle to know what you feel or need. Maybe you people please, overfunction, or hold yourself to impossible standards. You may feel disconnected from your body, struggle to trust yourself or others, or find that food and body image have become tangled up with control, safety, or coping. You can know, logically, that you’re safe now and still have a body that doesn’t quite believe it.

My experience centers around those needing help with anxiety, including OCD, depression, and management of life transitions, both teens and adults.
Sometimes when we struggle, we need help finding the strategies to move forward. Perhaps you are overwhelmed with anxiety, worry, loss or sadness. Maybe you are feeling the pressure to be perfect; in your job, as a parent, friend or even when you think about your appearance. What you seek is relief from this constant pressure. Therapy offers you the opportunity to explore where you are, and then take steps, at your own pace, to establish a healthy balance. You don't have to go this alone. In therapy we will explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviors, and together, with compassion, help you find the balance you looking to find.

Life can come at you with full force leaving you feeling lost and alone. Living in a world with such high expectations can leave you questioning your thoughts, mind, and body. I want you to know that I hear you, I see you, and you are not alone. The pain of trauma(s), grief, and loss have made you question the meaning of your life and how you can move forward. Years of body-shame and disordered eating have left you feeling disconnected with yourself and the world. You feel defeated with the heavy burdens you have carried throughout your life.

My ability to connect with adolescents is often due to my ability to allow them to share about issues those adults and parents may not understand.
My preferred method of treatment includes providing patients and their families the opportunity to gain awareness in the area of addiction and dual diagnosis treatment. Patients are involved in treatment modalities that include individual, group and family counseling. However, my services are also available to the loved one of addicted patients. Many family members are not provided with the opportunity for treatment, how addiction and mental disorders has had effected them. I give families and spouses the opportunity to learn about themselves and what they may need to change through treatment and support programs outside of treatment.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience working with a wide-range of individuals, including both adolescents and adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, life transitions, and family conflict.
While no two people are the same, I find that exploring different therapeutic modalities such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, Psychoanalytic Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy, leads to positive results with clients. For clients who find it comforting, I can be joined in session with my therapy dog, Ryder.

You may be feeling overwhelmed by stress, trauma, or major life changes. Perhaps you’ve spent a long time taking care of others and now realize you need support yourself. After many years serving as a first responder, I have deep respect for people who carry a lot while still showing up for others. Some clients I work with are navigating trauma, burnout, addiction, or challenges with eating and their relationship with food. Many are looking for a place where they can slow down, feel heard, and begin to make sense of what they’ve been carrying.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
When does a teenager need to see a therapist?
Exploration and existential struggle is a normal part of adolescence, but if your teenager’s emotions or behaviors change so as to disrupt their ability to function academically or socially, you may want to consult a therapist. For example, if a teen’s grades in school drop suddenly or if they begin isolating from their friends and only spending time online, a parent may want to consider therapy.

What can an adolescent therapist help with?
Adolescence is a tumultuous time, and a therapist can help with the challenges that arise, whether they relate to emotions, academics, disruptive behaviors, self-esteem, friendships, family dynamics, sexual or gender identity, or alcohol and drug use. A therapist can help teenagers unpack their emotions, understand their experiences, and develop coping skills.

What therapy types are suitable for teenagers?
Teenagers may especially benefit from cognitive behavioral therapy (which identifies unhealthy thought patterns to change emotions and behaviors), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), which teaches emotion regulation and distress tolerance, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), which teaches emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility, and interpersonal therapy, which targets interpersonal difficulties. Additionally, adolescent problems may involve family members; family therapy to improve family dynamics and communication is helpful in those cases.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
