I consider myself trauma informed, creative, flexible, mindful, patient and kind.
I have enjoyed clinical social work with adolescents and adults for about 25 years in a variety of settings. I will support your journey of self discovery and growth with curiosity and humility coupled with training and experience. Attachment theory, science, attention to the intersection of multiple identities with emphasis on the relationship between myself and clients grounds my practice. I believe healing occurs in relationships. I create a safe, supportive environment in which you can unpack and explore your feelings and needs to create the live you want and deserve. Provide LCSW supervision as well.

I have been trained in Trauma -Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
I am very passionate about working with children and adolescents who are questioning/embracing their gender and/or sexuality. If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma , ASD, open/nonmonogamous relationships, suicidality, or many other issues, I would love to work with you. I want children and adolescents to feel autonomous and in control of their own therapy. I believe that the client is the expert on themselves and my job is to learn from them, while contributing with my own skillset.

I am also trained to provide EMDR for trauma relief!.
The effects of anxiety, stress & big life changes manifest differently for everyone. Maybe you’re seeing the it at home: you’re arguing more and connecting less, feeling irritated with your family & friends more easily, or feeling completely overwhelmed with trying to keep a household together. Or perhaps it’s at work: you can’t concentrate, you’re feeling stretched thin, and it’s harder to keep up with all of your responsibilities like you used to. It might even be showing up in your body: aches and pains that won’t go away, tension, and brain fog, among other frustrations. Life feels hard right now.

I specialize in treating individuals with addiction, trauma , family dysfunction, and major life changes.
Do you feel stagnant or stuck? Feeling lost, overwhelmed, unfulfilled, or isolated? Do you find yourself repeating the same behaviors, even though you know they are not helping you get to where you want to be? You want things to be different with your entire being, but for whatever reason just cant seem to get there. You've turned to addictive behaviors or developed an unhealthy relationship with food to cope. Self sabotage and self criticism turns into a vicious cycle. You have tried therapy before, but didn't feel like you got what you needed because you were listened to but not challenged or pushed out of your comfort zone.

I work with adults and adolescents with complicated grief, PTSD , chronic illness, traumatic stress, mood disorders and those who identify as LGBTQ+, in areas of gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.
It takes courage to seek help when you are hurting. Life can present obstacles and challenges that feel overwhelming, and you find yourself in foreign territory. The story of your life has lost its meaning. Prior solutions result in unsatisfactory outcomes or worse, despair. My goal is to meet you where you are and provide a warm and caring environment in which you are supported. I believe in a collaborative relationship in which we both work to establish goals that promote authenticity, wellness, and flourishing. Together let’s create the beautiful story of your life your heart knows is possible.

People see a therapist for many reasons. Some feel overwhelmed, sad, disconnected, angry, or confused; some seek guidance as they cope with traumatic events or navigate stressful transitions. Therapy offers opportunities to heal from trauma and loss, to deepen our self-understanding, and to grow in our capacity for authenticity and connection. It takes courage to reach out for support, and I would be honored to be a part of your journey.

Let’s face it...sometimes life can feel overwhelming and you might be wondering if therapy can help. Let me tell you a little bit about myself and you can determine if we might be a good match. I work with female adolescents and adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, transitions, parenting issues and trauma . I believe that we each have many strengths within us, even if it doesn’t always feel that way, and that each of us is the expert of our own life and knows what we need to do to cope, heal and feel complete. I also know that sometimes those strengths and solutions can feel elusive and that’s where I can help.

While suffering is a healthy response to toxic or traumatic experiences, you don't want it to linger. Heartbreak, narcissistic abuse, trauma , and conflict all etch at your energy and well-being. It's not enough to just "get through" the hard times. Find, build and expand on your inner strengths and resources to create a more balanced, love-filled, and healthier life.

THE ONLY WAY OUT IS THROUGH (Robert Frost)... It is human to suffer and it is human to face challenges. When the suffering becomes too great, and the challenges too large, good therapy can play a key role in bringing about change. If you decide to work with me, I would consider it an honor to become part of your journey towards increased health and well-being. When you come to therapy, you will be treated with respect. I bring many years of experience as a therapist, providing both brief evidence-based interventions and long term psychodynamic approach. I will work carefully with you to define and achieve your personal goals.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
