My ideal clients are people of any age who have experienced a disruption in their childhood. They are now navigating big emotions, neurodiversity, identity questions, or behaviors that others label as “defiant.” They could also be nervous, withdrawn, refusing to go to school, or having outbursts. People are often exhausted, confused, and desperate for real support. Goals to consider are to: increase communication, reconnect with others, stabilize the home environment, and help build trust, emotional insight, and/or internal control. They’re seeking a therapist who "gets it," someone who sees beyond the behavior.

My approach integrates EMDR, somatic therapy, and physical‑oriented interventions to help clients regulate their nervous system, understand their internal experience, and move toward change.
Many of the men I work with are successful on the outside but privately overwhelmed. They’re disciplined, intelligent, and used to pushing through—yet something in their system isn’t resetting the way it used to. They feel stuck, disconnected, or caught in patterns that no longer match the life they’re trying to build. They want more than symptom relief; they want meaningful, lasting change that helps them feel steady, present, and in control again.

An ideal client for me is someone who is interested in doing a deep analysis of themselves because I believe that looking to the past allows clients to uncover hidden meanings or patterns that they can use to breakdown faulty beliefs, align with core values, find purpose, and heal. My approach works best for adults and teens who are navigating: trauma/PTSD, grief/loss, major life transitions, neurodivergence (ADHD/autism, late diagnosed, chronic masking, etc.), no/low contact family situations, identity exploration, anxiety, OCD, and personality issues.

My approach to therapy is somatic-focused and trauma informed.
Making the decision to pursue therapy is a huge step. It’s easy to push things down or avoid them, but making the choice to reach out shows strength. Maybe you’ve never had a safe space to share your true thoughts and feelings, or felt truly heard and understood. Let’s build that together here! I am passionate about helping survivors of abusive or unhealthy relationships learn to rebuild their confidence and find their voice again. When we experience relational trauma, whether that be in a romantic context, or during our childhood, this significantly impacts how we feel about ourselves and how we navigate future relationships.

Utilizing cognitive and somatic techniques from modalities such as EMDR, ACT, Brainspotting, and IFS, I can assist in breaking cycles of harm you may feel trapped in.
Therapy can be such an overwhelming process to get started with, especially when you may also be struggling with ADHD, trauma symptoms, or anxiety that make everyday tasks feel monumental. For marginalized people in particular, feeling safe and truly seen by their therapist may be particularly challenging. As a Black, queer, neurodivergent therapist with 10 years experience, my approach is liberatory, relational, strengths-based, person-centered, affirming, and anti-oppressive. Together we'll implement accessible, functional strategies to help you close the gap between the life you're living and the life you envision for yourself.

My work takes a holistic, person-centered, existential, and trauma-informed approach, combining mindfulness practices, EMDR, Brainspotting, and somatic therapy techniques to facilitate healing of both the mind and body.
You may be carrying experiences that feel heavy, confusing, or difficult to hold. Trauma can shape how we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. It can leave us feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or stuck in ways that are hard to explain. I'm guided by a holistic understanding of healing that recognizes the connection between our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual parts. Trauma can disrupt this natural balance, creating patterns to help us get through painful or overwhelming situations. These responses aren't signs that something's wrong with you, but how your mind and body worked to protect you.

When we are on our way towards healing, we may face many roadblocks: past trauma, invalidating environments, views of ourselves, among many others. While we are hard-wired to heal, it can be hard to do so when there are many factors getting in the way of our journey towards peace. Maybe standard talk therapy or CBT has not been helpful for you in the past, and you feel stuck. My passion is working with survivors of trauma or chronically invalidating environments who hope to build a life worth living. I enjoy bringing laughter, memes, tiktoks, and swearing into sessions when appropriate. To me, authenticity is the key to progress!

My clients typically have a history of childhood and/or other trauma and need to learn to stabilize their troubling symptoms first. They are often looking for peace from these acute symptoms. They are tired of the constant pull of trauma on their minds, hearts, and bodies, and want to feel more in control of themselves. They want, more than anything, to put the trauma in the past. They may have trouble experiencing simple happiness. Some people have also experienced spiritual-religious abuse as part of their trauma. I am fully open to supporting them in that process.

These modalities include, but are not limited to, humanistic, feminist, person-centered, somatic, liberation, anti-racism, and fat liberation/health at every size.
Therapy isn’t about racing to a finish line, it’s about the journey we take together. In our work, we’ll explore the parts of your identity that feel most meaningful, look at how your relationships shape your world, and create space for the challenges you’re navigating right now. You are the expert on your own life, and I’ll trust your inner wisdom every step of the way! You don’t need to know where to start. As the saying goes: “Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can.”

Through an integrated use of Internal Family Systems (IFS) work along with somatic, creative and mindfulness practices, I can help you (re) connect you with a felt sense of wholeness and a deep connection to your own power, life force and inner wisdom.
I'm so glad you're here. The people who most resonate with my therapeutic approach tend to find me when they’re in the middle place between who they were and who they are becoming, sometimes directly following a loss or ending and other times when they are in the thick of a transition or identity shift that they don’t want to navigate alone. I have deep experience holding space for grief, life transitions, trauma processing and healing attachment wounds. If you are feeling disconnected from your authentic self and inner life force and longing to feel whole again, this may be the place for you.

Trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and addiction are issues often too intense to cope with alone, especially when shame creeps in and says you are to blame. I am passionate about creating a safe space where we can face these issues at a pace that you set. It can be intimidating to start. Many of my clients enter therapy for the first time, and I work hard to make sure it is a comfortable and meaningful experience. Therapy can be a cathartic place where you can speak freely to someone outside of your circle. I work to treat you as the expert of your own life and encourage things you are doing that are already working.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
