One of my specialties is family therapy with adolescents and their parents. I enjoy supporting the bridge of communication between the generational differences, and helping each family member feel heard and seen. I work with the philosophy that we don't have to agree with one another to have compassion for one other. I see individuals, couples and families. I work with children as young as 6 years old. If you are seeking parenting support for your child/children, I offer a blended approach to supporting you based on where each specific child is in their development.

In my work with clients, I emphasize the power of self-expression as a path to greater self-awareness and healing. Expression plays a vital role in our everyday lives, especially when navigating through challenging experiences like grief and trauma. I approach therapy with a person-centered, trauma-informed, and strength-based perspective, meeting clients where they are and helping them make meaningful changes toward healing. As an Art Therapist, I have the ability to use creative techniques to assist with expression.

I help my clients get results fast. Therapy is not a complicated process. We meet, we talk about the expectations of therapy, identify specific treatment goals and map out a plan. Our work takes place within the boundaries of a safe, corrective emotional relationship. I put patients’ feelings into words, focus on symptom management and reduce their impact on personal and professional lives.

My psychoanalytic practice aims at helping people construct through language a shift in their relationship to their enigmatic patterns.
Let's invent together a way beyond your suffering or problematic repetitions. I use creative language play to release unconscious tensions manifesting as symptoms. In psychoanalysis you can elevate your agency by recognizing your own unfolding processes without the pressure to change. My attention will be focused on the linguistic and homophonous patterns of your unconscious as manifested in your speech, with the aim of distilling the suffering from your words and possibly producing a creative practice in its stead. To that end I will invite you to speak.

We all struggle in the relationships that are important to us and need help some of the time to develop skills to strengthen these relationships. We lose connection and have difficulty communicating with our partners or spouses; we get stuck in conflict with our children; we lose track of who we are; we dread going to work because it feels hostile or unsafe; we question our faith; we have trouble expressing needs at school; and we neglect our bodies and our health. The relationships we have with ourselves and others are always evolving and we need to change with them.

Do you ever feel stuck or uncertain, no matter how hard you try? Do you feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and unsure how to move forward? I can help. Maybe you’re navigating anxiety, depression, or burnout, or trying to live authentically in a world that feels increasingly hostile. The weight of injustice, identity-based stress, and societal expectations can leave us disconnected. In our work, we'll explore the beliefs and patterns that keep you stuck and uncover your path to clarity, connection, and self-trust. Healing doesn’t mean quieting yourself, it means becoming more of you. And I’m here to walk that path with you.

My ideal clients are adults, professionals, and college students struggling with anxiety, trauma, relationship conflict, burnout, depression, perfectionism, or feeling stuck in unhealthy patterns. People often come to therapy because they want more than short-term coping skills. Many want to understand not just what they feel, but why they feel it. Using a psychodynamic and attachment-based approach, we explore how past experiences and relationships shape present emotions and behaviors. I integrate CBT, DBT, and Existential Therapy to help clients build insight, emotional resilience, healthier relationships, and lasting change.

Psychoanalytic Therapists
Does psychoanalytic therapy work?
Psychoanalytic therapy derives from the work of Sigmund Freud. In this type of therapy, discovering buried thoughts and emotions from the unconscious will help a person work through their difficulties and negative behaviors. Research shows that psychoanalytic therapy can be highly effective, with patients reporting improvement in mood, quality of life, and overall well-being.

How long are people typically in psychoanalytic therapy?
Traditional psychoanalysis is in-depth and is conducted in five sessions every week. Today, modern psychoanalytic therapy is less intense and normally incorporates as few as one or two sessions a week. In some cases, positive change can occur quickly. However, if the condition, difficulty, or behavior is deep-seated, improvement may require many months or years of therapy.

Is psychoanalytic therapy suitable for young people?
Children and adolescents can benefit from this type of therapy. Many kids and teens are often unable to form and communicate their thoughts and emotions. Psychoanalytic therapy uses specific techniques such as dream analysis, symbolism, and free association or word association; all of which can be useful tools for less-communicative young people. Through this therapy, a patient will hopefully make connections between what they feel inside and how the world works outside.

Can psychoanalytic therapy be done online?
Modern-day psychoanalytic therapy is very different from traditional psychoanalysis. While an individual can sit face-to-face with the psychoanalyst for multiple sessions a week, they do not have to. Today, psychoanalytic therapy can be effectively conducted online or by phone. The key is that the individual confronts what is repressed and avoided, and this can be done whether in person or over online video.
